A huge thank you to Barchester Healthcare's Ashford House Care Centre for this lovely post ❤️. In the midst of two huge D-Day Dollies tours it's easy to forget that fabulous performers like Nick are still delivering specially tailored shows like 'Music from the Movies' to wonderful audiences like yours all across the country 🎶🎤👏👏👏. Glad you all had a wonderful time 🙏
🌟 What a Wonderful Morning at Ashford House! 🎶
Our residents had the most delightful time this morning with the talented Nick from Mini Concerts, who brought "Music in the Movies" right to our lounge! From iconic film soundtracks to sing-alongs that had everyone smiling, tapping their feet, and joining in, it was a morning filled with joy, laughter, and beautiful memories.
Music truly is magical for people living with dementia. It has an incredible ability to:
Awaken memories — Even when other memories fade, familiar songs can transport people back to special moments in their lives.
Lift mood and reduce anxiety — Soothing or uplifting melodies can ease agitation and bring calm and happiness.
Stimulate the brain — Music engages multiple areas of the brain, helping with coordination, speech, and emotional connection.
Encourage social interaction — Singing together creates a wonderful sense of community and belonging.
Watching residents light up and sing along to their favourite movie themes was heartwarming and a powerful reminder of how therapeutic live music can be.
A huge thank you to Nick and Miki Concerts for sharing your talent with us!

6 YEARS! 🎤🇬🇧❤️
Sometimes, in the middle of the busy schedules and packed theatres, it’s important to pause and truly reflect on how far something has come ❤️
Today, we want to celebrate the incredible journey of the D-Day Dollies — and the extraordinary legacy this show has created.
Six years ago, two wonderfully talented women, and , created, produced, and choreographed a show with one simple mission: to bring joy, comfort, and connection to older communities during COVID. These heartfelt visits during an incredibly difficult time, soon blossomed into something far bigger than anyone could have imagined.
With the backing and support of Mini Concerts, the D-Day Dollies launched its first UK tour in 2020— and from that moment on, this magical production has continued to grow from strength to strength 🇬🇧✨
Since then:
🎤 Over 200 performers have taken part in tours across the country.
❤️ More than 150,000 audience members have experienced the joy of the show
🌟 It remains Mini Concerts’ most popular touring production — even amongst 75 other wonderful themed shows.
But beyond the numbers, what makes the D-Day Dollies so special is the happiness, nostalgia, laughter, and emotional connection it brings to audiences everywhere. The impact this show has had on so many people is something truly beautiful to witness.
To the creators — thank you for trusting us to help nurture and grow such an important and meaningful production.
And to every single performer who has stepped onto the ‘stage’ and poured their heart into these performances: thank you for bringing joy to the audiences who deserve it most. Your talent, warmth, and dedication never goes unnoticed.
You are all so deeply appreciated by us here at Mini Concerts ❤️🎤🇬🇧
