Micromanagement kills motivation, and little-to-no attention can be demotivating to colleagues and employees. Instead, strive to achieve a happy balance in which you instil trust in the people you work with while also providing them sufficient support when needed. Allowing your team members to do their jobs and offering a guiding light when necessary will help ensure everyone feels valued and motivated.

NLP is a very effective therapy for the full range of problems such as phobias, depression, habit disorders, psychosomatic illnesses, and learning disorders. NLP also provides powerful techniques for goal setting, management training, life coaching, and personal development. All of which can be very beneficial for improving our mental health. Our behaviour, thoughts, and feelings are driven by the unconscious mind. Most of which you’re not even aware of. NLP can help you to permanently change things at an unconscious level and ultimately boost your wellbeing.

We all associate words with deeper meanings, which in turn can become our beliefs (good or limiting) and ultimately impact our behaviour. Words can facilitate or hinder our abilities. Of all the people you interact with, the most important person you will talk with is yourself. This isn’t always necessarily large sentences but a mixture of words, pictures, and thoughts.
Here is where problems can start, negative dialogue may spiral and unless the cycle gets broken it can become reinforced resulting in the creation of a limiting belief. By being aware and taking charge of our internal dialogue we can respond better to situations, we can perform to a higher level, and achieve our goals, whether in life, sport, or work.

It never hurts to have another skill to add to your resume, and research indicates that learning new skills keeps your brain sharp. Identify a skill relevant to your current role that interests you, and pitch the idea to your boss. Especially if it’s something that will benefit the company, they might even be willing to fund your training or allow you to use work time to develop it. It’s a win for you to add value to the employer, while also adding value to your marketability if you choose to leave and move onto another role.

One of the things NLP offers is a deeper understanding of how language creates and reflects how we perceive and experience the world. NLP empowers, enables and teaches us to better understand the way our brain processes the words we use (and how that can impact on our past, present, and future). For example, if you are worrying, NLP suggests you should set aside a 'solutions time', so that you are programming yourself to find solutions instead of spending time worrying. NLP gives us strategies for observing human behaviour and learning from the best (and worst) of that.

The people we surround ourselves with have a big impact on our lives and our personal development. This is an often overlooked motivation tip because people tend to focus on themselves and not their environment. Have you ever been around a negative person and walked away feeling negative and cynical? Have you been around someone positive and felt happier the rest of the day?
Avoid negative people if possible and surround yourself with like-minded, positive people who will inspire you to aim higher and become a better version of yourself. Find people who take action instead of constantly making excuses.

NLP has a strategy and technique to help in almost any scenario, whether that it is in sport, business, of your personal life. It provides a methodology that enables us to pull out what’s ‘not working’ and replace it with things that do. NLP is less concerned with ‘why’ and more with ‘how and what’ makes up what you’re experiencing that’s problematic or limiting. So whether you have things that are limiting you, you want to be more successful but don’t know how, or you want to rid yourself of low mood, anxiety or phobias, performance psychology wit NLP can help.

It can be difficult to stay motivated if you believe that you have no control over what happens in your life. Although there are a many things we cannot control, there are also many things we can control, such as our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours.
Some people believe that outside forces have control of their lives, for example, they may believe that the government, a system, politicians, bad luck, and other things control their destiny.
The problem with believing that external forces control your life is that you generally don’t think you can take control. You don’t believe you can make the changes necessary to be successful. Once you believe you have control of your life, you can make the positive changes that will bring you closer to achieving your dreams.

At its most basic level, NLP is an approach to personal development that relies on language patterns, visualisation, self-talk, and a wealth of other techniques. One of the most practical aspects of NLP is the ability to “programme” a specific cue to elicit a desired mindset or attitude.
Once it’s done once, you can “switch on” that mindset any time you need it, by using what we’ll call an Anchor. Anchors are a simple concept, but as an athlete, they’re extremely powerful for tapping into your winning mindset during key moments. With a strong enough Anchor, you can easily access that mindset for the rest of your life.

How we react to stress is often about perception & labels. 'What' and 'how' we think play a key role in the direction stress may take us. For instance, does it mobilise us towards reaching a successful outcome? Or does it create feelings of ‘I want to do something, but I can’t’. In times of perceived pressure our thinking can become less clear and over time we end up with maladaptive responses to things we’d normally take in our stride.
Taking time out, reflecting on our day and achievements can help. Talking things through with others can also help, and whilst we may not want to talk to loved ones or colleagues, there are many resources out there to call upon if you want to talk.
