VMO2 marks 2 Gbps launch with questionable 'first' claim 14/02/2024

Virgin Media O2 celebrated its launch of a commercial 2 Gbps retail broadband service over XGS-PON with the claim that it is the first major UK CSP to offer this service.

“The word 'major' is doing a lot of heavy lifting here”, argues Telecoms.com, citing Yayzi Broadband’s 2.3 Gbps speed launch last month, on CityFibre's XGS-PON network.
