Our co-founder, can finally share the outcome of more than 2 years of thinking, writing, curating and, most importantly, conversations with the incredible team at the Crafts Council! We love working with new processes, shifting usual sequence of actions in order to alter the outcome. A couple of years ago Shai was awarded the Artisa fellowship for developing an idea that looking at HOW things are made could be as useful an index as where, by whom or what out of. It’s a step towards making the remix of processes more accessible- immeasurable thanks to .m.campbell and Hannah Ford for making every single conversation so enjoyable and so completely mind expanding and a huge huge THANKS to the team for letting our ambitions run wild and allowing this project to have such a lasting outcome!

Looking forward to meeting, eating and bumping into each other again soon!

The freelancer culture of working in cafes seems a life time ago. Before working from home became a necessity, cafes offered the chance to get away from your living space, the flexibility to work from multiple locations across the city, and have coffee meetings that rolled seamlessly into cocktails.

A few years ago we designed Stories on Broadway for the Mothership Group ( Patterns Brighton, The Book Club, Queen of Hoxton that we also designed for them), they approached us with exciting plans for a space that would accommodate a busy brunch service by day, a casual cocktail bar in the evening and a workspace for the local freelance community around that.

Design Direction, Furniture and Lighting for Stories, Broadway Market.

Folded sheet metal brackets paired with solid Oak I-beams are the basis for the furniture range and the lights are folded sheets of paper floating in the space on pulleys to change from low level reading light to larger diffuser for a more social atmosphere. The walls and floor became a swatch library of colour tones and finishes, the rain forest wall in Cactus Corner a place to imagine our dream collage of a reading room in the Barbican Conservatory.

The furniture is available to order in a range of colours and finishes, the lights are also available with or without adjustable pulleys.

Fold Furniture. Using the natural strength of folded sheet metal to form rigid legs that support surfaces that use the same construction principles as I beams to span variable distances- from a stool to a bench. Available in a range of colours and timber finishes.

We create new furniture for each of our interior - these last months we have been focussing on translating and updating our archive of collections for production. More to come soon. 💥

Back in the UK after our extended stay on the magical Isle of Madeira. Sorting through our post and there amongst the test kits and statements was the beautiful distraction of the latest edition of Icon! Thanks for including our voice in your piece about Design post Brexit Here’s to a hopeful future 🇪🇺❤️💥 @ London, United Kingdom

A space with huge ambition. Designed to be busy from 8am to 3am. Morning coffees on the way to the office, workspace for freelancers, place to discover new art and music and then to let your hair down and dance all. Night. Long. The Book Club - So many fond memories of putting this project together. It was the first of many with this team. @ London, United Kingdom

It’s very exciting that our home has been featured in this month - we have been missing our space during this lockdown where we found ourselves unexpectedly on an extended stay on the beautiful Island of Madeira. Seeing the pictures has definitely made us appreciate it anew. It’s layout is unconventional and surprising but suits us and the way we live down to a tee. Turning improbable briefs into reality is something that we pride ourselves on - and you don’t get a more demanding client than yourself!! @ London, United Kingdom

On the surface Madeira seems to be all about the nature - and it is very very beautiful with a huge spectrum of natural wonders, but our extended time here has allowed us to explore more of its man-made or human features. This amazing social complex under the brutalist columns of the airport is full of colours, compositions and material palettes that really held our attention. @ Aeroportos da Madeira

We are always struck by how much of our job is making decisions. And how making decisions can send our clients (and friends!) into a tail spin. We do it so often, it’s easy to forget that these decisions can seem make or break! Our studio brings together years of experience and observations for our colour, material and finish palettes - but the most powerful driver is always the people who will be using the space. You’d be surprised the edges you can push when you know how! We love that each one of our clients spaces look and feel exactly like them. @ Austria Campus
