Join us on Saturday 28 June, for a resource launch event aimed at art educators, looking at the creative and critical use of image-based AI in Art & Design.
New digital tools, such as Generative AI, are easily available to young people through everyday media and yet little formal guidance exists for how students can use these technologies safely or responsibly.
The Ways of [Machine] Seeing project, inspired by John Berger's influential work Ways of Seeing, offers a guide to best practice for secondary school teacher training and curriculum development. The session will aim to inform and explore the use of AI in the classroom.

Spend an evening with Beijing-based artist Lin Zhipeng (aka. No.223) this Thursday in our bookshop as he celebrates the 20th anniversary of his photobook, La Liberté ou L’Amour!
From 2004 to 2023, No. 223 has crafted a unique artistic world through his photographic vision. This 20th-anniversary photobook is more than a retrospective—it is an exploration of artistic freedom and the timeless vitality of youth. It invites readers to reflect on the past while embracing the enduring creative spirit that defines No. 223’s work.
The number “223” becomes a symbolic thread, subtly woven through the book’s structure. The photobook features a blend of new and old, iconic and obscure, showcasing the depth of his creativity while leaving room for interpretation. This process of selection is as much about the act of curation as it is about revealing the evolution of his artistic language.
Free, event starts 6:30pm

Each month we look back and re-share highlights from our takeovers.
In May, we featured works by Alma Haser, Yasuhiko lida, Mehaira Abdelhamid and Marcia Michael.
📎Alma uses analogue processes such as paper-folding techniques, collage and mixed media to create layers of intrigue around my subjects. Her series, “Everything Has an End, Only the Sausage Has Two.” which is currently on show at explores the quirks of German idioms, their origins, and their often unexpected English translations.
🛹With an eye for poetic moments of stillness amongst the chaotic backdrop of city life, Yasuhiko’s work presents an intimate, unvarnished portrait of skate culture, selfhood, nature, nightlife, love and friendship set across London, Tokyo and New York. For his images, he used the Canon SureShot Sleek camera.
🧣Mehaira focuses on blending fashion and art to create stories that highlight underrepresented cultures and identities through her lens as a young, black hijabi woman. Her images were shot on a Canon 6D Mark ii, Nikon D3300 and Nikon Z6ii.
🖼️Marcia’s work guides the viewer on a journey through temporal dimensions, weaving together Black feminism, intergenerational visuality, African diasporic traditions, and the representation of the Black mothering body. For her work she used a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV (DSLR) Camera and an analogue twin-lens reflex (TLR) Rolleiflex camera.
Our TPG Takeovers every weekend expand upon current conversations in photography and showcase work or projects which align with what’s on at the Gallery now.
TPG Takeovers are supported by MPB , the world’s largest global platform for used camera gear.
