Did you know that France and Belgium share the same month for their national holiday?👀

On this year 14th of July, Paris hosts a Military Parade on Avenue Foch at 10 am. Due to this years Olympics, the usual festivities are a bit changed with the fireworks being hosted at the Eiffel Tower but in private. You'll be able to watch the fireworks from afar! 🤩

In Brussels, the festivities will be held all day of July 21st in the city. In the afternoon, join the military and civil parade in attendance of the King. During the evening, go to Resto National for the biggest Moules-Frites of the city! To end the day in style, join the fireworks, laser show and concert at the Cinquantenaire. 🥳

We're feeling great after winning gold at the World Cup last year, and with the Paris Games at the horizon, the excitement is building. Having fans back in the stands, especially with many friends and family from western Germany coming to watch, is going to be a highlight after the pandemic kept them away in Tokyo.

I’ve made many friends among competitors from France, Belgium, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand, as we often play in Europe together. But once we’re on the pitch, those friendships are temporarily set aside. For performance, I rely on technology like the Polar Flow app and rigorous training routines, even when on holiday, to stay in top shape. Hockey’s intensity demands it, and I make sure to find gyms wherever I go or run 8–10km depending on the season.

What I'm looking forward to most about the Olympics is seeing the fans there. The pandemic meant no fans could be at Tokyo. And as I’m from the western part of Germany, lots of family and friends are coming to see the matches. Different people inspire me in various ways – from a knowledgeable gym coach to my long-time sprint coach who’s been training me for 12 years. Their guidance keeps me at my best, both physically and mentally.

Participating in the Games has always been my greatest dream, an aspiration that has driven me since I was twelve or thirteen. The road to get there is full of ups and downs, tough training sessions and moments of discouragement. But every challenge I face strengthens my resolve, because I know that these trials are necessary to reach the heights of success. ✨

I savour every moment of success, conscious of the hard work that preceded it. Despite moments of doubt and exhausting training sessions, I’m convinced that every second is worthwhile. My long-awaited qualification was therefore greeted with immense relief and indescribable joy. I still remember my jubilation, my uncoordinated gestures of euphoria, struggling to believe that we’d finally made it. I shared this magical moment with my family, who have always been by my side. 🙌

Waiting for the is both exciting and frenetic. It’s a time when the whole world comes together to support their country, when you discover new and new personalities. And of course, beyond this unique experience, my greatest dream is to win an Olympic medal. Imagining the moment when the whole team is honoured at the ceremony, when each person passes the medal to their teammate – it’s a source of inspiration like no other. I sincerely hope to experience this unforgettable moment.🏅
