A fun shoot with David Matheson at their cool place in West Hollywood a few years back to capture my California chair after we met through Super Connector Media via Chris Winfield and Jen Gottlieb 🎤 Keynote Speaker .

An example to show how important the relationship between light, material and form is in my work.

My chair was designed to feel at home in the mid century homes by my hero architects such as John Lautner John Lautner Foundation and Richard Neutra richardneutraofficial . Made using CNC tube bending techniques from roll cage race cars it is designed to as a statement chair to share and make you feel protected while sat inside its generous proportions.

The giant compound curved cushion wraps you in comfort but the real beauty lies in its presence! The way light works with shadows on all the main profile curves is just magical.

It still one of my favourite creations. But is a perfect example of how important lighting is to me when creating a piece as simple as a chair.

Sometimes the moon can give off the most spectacular lighting!

What is most magical for me is to show the real details of this piece, the close up beauty and honesty of these material finishes , getting right close up completely changes the scale and takes me back to scenes of Star Wars looking up at giant ATAT feet clomping in front of you. Which is exactly where the inspiration came from for the stand of this piece.

This being more graceful, more futuristic looking when you get down on the ground and amongst the metal.

But equally light and shadow are the best at complimenting the lovely texture of our stiching and quilted leather on the jet cowling inspired clock surround.

So much fun to just play in the moonlight!

Recently on show Silverstone for the 2026 Grand Prix with Renata Fernandes at the Helipad which welcomed over 4000 vip’s , celebrities, headline sponsors and execs over the race weekend.

Sadly we didn’t quite get the photography we wanted so we used a little help to show how it looked in pride of place.

One thing I love about the creative world is meeting new people and sometimes you are just blown away by their work.
Two of those people this weekend were the incredible designer/artist Carlos Mello of 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗬 and brilliant photographer/ content creator Gonzaga Lopes of Eternal’s by Foto Lopes . Who kindly took these epic shots of my collaboration pieces with Racing Gold ! I just love his eye for capturing light against the detail of materials!!
