𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐋 🍷🍺🌿 Roger Rogowski will give an illustrated first-hand account of what life was really like in North Kensington and Notting Hill before mass slum clearance and the building of the Westway changed the area forever. Roger grew up in Kensal Town in the 1950s & 60s and collected the memories of 28 'Townies' in his book. He gives regular tours and talks on local history.

“The History of the KPH” by TOM VAGUE, publisher and local historian. Author of Getting It Straight in Notting Hill Gate: A West London Psychogeography Report. The KPH pub and local social history, with literary, art, film, sport and music links – the Hippodrome racecourse and the Notting Dale piggeries, World War 1 and 2, 10 Rillington Place, Rachman and Michael X, the 1958 race riots and the Carnival - through hippy, punk, reggae and hip-hop music scenes to the present day.

The KPH has kindly agreed to give us meeting space for a series of talks on local history. Let’s get together to share our interest and love of history and place. Let’s support our local historians and create community. Speakers include Tom Vague, publisher and psychogeographer; Dave Hucker, tour guide and legendary DJ; Roger Rogowski, author of The Other Side of Notting Hill: From Wartime to the Westway; and Marcia Robinson, author of Sledge: The Soul of Notting Hill. The series launches with Tom Vague on “The History of the KPH” on Dec. 21 at 7:00pm.
