BALANCE IS EVERYTHING đĄ
Balance & position is so important.
If you throw a shot & hit thin air you still need to be able to keep your balance.
If you miss & then lose balance even if your opponent doesnât land clean itâll make your balance worse..
If your opponent does land clean youâre a little bit fu**ed.
Constantly drill with intention of where your weight is, how your balance feels & the distance between you & the opponent/heavy bag/pad man etc.

This is just a short clip of Kevin Shadowboxing when we started 3/4 months ago (if you include holidays etc) & where he is now (first session after the holidays) đ¤Ż
Everythingâs smoother, the balance/footwork, the jab is crisper, his defence is improving..
Well on his way to having his first IC/WC later this year.
Our plan is simple:
- Kevin has two sessions with me per week
- He then trains outside the sessions with either a separate session plan or working on what weâve gone through during sessions (1/2x per week)
- We record the progress, assess & adjust
Simple. Each month we take clips of Shadowboxing, Padwork, Sparring, log it into Google drive & we go from there.
Set your goals. Put the work in. Monitor & adjust accordingly.

Yes, you can feint, you can just touch, but the premise is once someone breaks your range you throw & you get them to respect the range.
Get creative - throw head, throw body, feint hook..
