Looking to have a more eco-friendly Easter this year? Here are some simple tips to help you celebrate sustainably:
🐣 Choose Easter eggs without plastic packaging. Many UK supermarkets now offer plastic-free eggs, and numerous options are crafted from recycled materials.
🐣 Get creative and make your own Easter goodies. Whip up treats like chocolate nests using ingredients packaged in recyclable paper and foil, like this one from Good Food: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/shredded-wheat-nests
🐣 Don’t forget to recycle all your Easter egg wrappers and packaging.
Here’s the best way to do it...
♻️ Foil from Easter egg tins: Gently remove any chocolate residue, gather the foil from everyone, and compress it into a fist-sized ball. This helps prevent small pieces from slipping through recycling machinery. Then, place it in your recycling bin. Be sure to check if your local council accepts foil.
♻️ Cardboard cartons: Remove any plastic windows, flatten the cardboard, and recycle it with your paper waste.
♻️ Plastic egg shells: Look for the recycling number (usually PET1). This plastic is commonly accepted in household recycling bins across the UK.
♻️ Plastic wrappers: Verify if the wrapper carries a recycling symbol or number. If your local authority doesn’t recycle these, some supermarkets collect plastic films and bags, or visit Recycle Now UK's website to check where to recycle items all around the UK.
Make your Easter greener and enjoy the celebrations with sustainability in mind!

💚 We love seeing our donated items create real moments that matter!
Through our donation network, furniture and equipment from major events are being put to excellent use by charities like the Cherry Groce Foundation. Their partner organisation, Epic Care, a semi-independent living unit for 16–17-year-olds, has used our donated dressing tables to furnish young residents’ rooms, and nail tech chairs are now empowering a young nail artist to train others in the home. 💅
🌍 And the best part? It’s all completely free for charities.

2025 in numbers: foundations for impact 🌱
In 2025 we focused on strengthening our foundations so we can deliver even more environmental and social impact in the years ahead. Here is what that looked like in numbers:
💚 46,513 items donated to charities, community groups, schools and social enterprises
💚 Over 170 organisations supported across the UK and internationally
💚 £377,442 in social impact value generated, helping third sector organisations redirect vital funds to frontline work
💚 8.89 tCO2e saved by keeping materials out of landfill
💚 46.31 tCO2e saved by charities not needing to buy items new
Together, that is the equivalent of well over 200 London buses of CO2e avoided.
Alongside the headline figures, we also:
✅ Supported communities in 4 new international regions: Miami, Lisbon, Tokyo and Barcelona
✅ Saved 447.88 kgCO2e simply by changing how we send email attachments
✅ Purchased refurbished tech, avoiding 463 kgCO2e
✅ Kept our Scope 1 and 2 emissions at 0 tCO2e, powered by 100% renewable electricity
✅ Continued to remove carbon through reforestation and seagrass projects, while reducing our overall transport emissions
Behind every number are real people, places and stories - from Harrods stars lighting up community spaces, to Welsh dragons inspiring schoolchildren, to Lisbon charities transforming event materials into new resources. 🌏
Thank you to our clients, partners and charity network for being part of this journey in 2025. Here's to building on these foundations in 2026. 💫

🎉 Event Cycle is 5! 🎉
Five years ago, Event Cycle was just an idea, sparked by a question: What happens to all the amazing materials, creations and props when the event ends?
Today, we’ve helped events across the globe implement sustainable solutions with a lasting social legacy, and we’re proud to say we’re just getting started.
From global conferences and cultural spectacles to repurposed carpets, community coffee counters and stationery for educational programs, every project, big or small, has shaped who we are.
Thank you to our clients, charities, team, collaborators, and to every person who believed that events could do better by people and planet.
Swipe through for 5 of our proudest milestones - one for each year of making an impact and reducing waste. 💚👇
