Evening walks with the fam are the best. Especially when you've got glorious fields of red clover on your doorstep.

Multiple exposure from a recent visit to Camber. Gorgeous conditions. Cold feet after hours walking the sands barefoot and a swim. Blessed to have had an overnight shoot here and to make time for some creative photography.

I absolutely love Jack in the Green festival in Hastings. The creativity, the colours and crowds of excited people dressed for the occasion. Sundays parade was amazing.

I finally captured some bluebells this year. Phew, almost missed out. A joy as always to hear the morning birdsong and discover unfamiliar scenes in local woods.

More UNEDITED content and some of my favourite shots from this year. All taken in Firle, all without a single edit other than the boarder. The first shot I'm particularly happy with. It feels really strange posting unedited images. Hope they still grab your attention.

Delightful displays of daffodils at at the moment. Plenty of camellias and magnolias out too as well as spring blossoms. Plenty to put a spring in your step.

Great to see the sun shine while out on a shoot in Hastings and St Leonard's last week. Here's a mix of classic street shots alongside some traditional city shots towards the end. Hope you like them.

UNEDITED. Straight from the camera. No cropping, no basic edits, just what caught my eye that morning. I rarely share images like this, but I want to keep showing what draws me, even if they get overlooked. Taken last week at Arlington Reservoir and Abbot’s Wood.

I've done that thing where I don't post for months and then cram everything in, in one go. Guilty.
Anyway finally some new content from 2026. From simple wanderings from the house, mainly around Firle place. I'm gutted that the thick frozen lakes and frosty mornings have momentarily passed and the snow has blanketed the rest of the UK. I still thoroughly enjoyed what we had though. I'd love to know if you have a favourite from the selection. It was a joy to discover this small waterfall. Even though it's a bit busy, I still loved the light and icicles.
The blog post is ready too, for those interested in the full overview of 2025. Have a look and feel free to comment. Many thanks. https://jamesratchfordphotography.com/blog/summery-of-2025

Thank you for the lovely responses to my 2025 landscape overview. Here are some of my favourite street images from the year, which feel just as important to my photography, along with a few street portraits.
I’m currently putting together a full overview of 2025 on my website blog which also showcases my commissioned work. Primarily festivals, events and property images.
Soon I’ll get onto 2026, for some recent icy, snowy imagery.
