Locksbottom Village

It is with shattered hearts that we have to tell you , our mummy, ‘Shirley ice cream’, passed away on Monday 20th December.

There are so many that loved her. Her family … her friends ..and so many, many customers, that it’s hard to speak to everyone. So we felt it best to put out a message on here. Her funeral will be held on Monday 24th January. We would love everyone to be a part of it in some way (covid permitting). Details are below. We ask you for privacy at this time so we can grieve. Our loss is indescribable.

Mum will be leaving from Leanne’s house (Starts Hill Avenue), and walking through Farnborough village to the church. If you would like to join us along the way, we will start walking at approximately 10.40am

Reliable and reasonable boiler engineer needed to check and service our Intergas boiler as started to make a noise. Local to Locksbottom. Quite urgent as started to make a strange noise 😩

Unconfirmed reports of an RTC outside The Black Horse/Lidl and the road now closed by police.

If you’re thinking of going to Orpington this morning, think about your route. Sevenoaks Road is jammed up all the way up Spur Road and as far as the eye can see down Sevenoaks Road, presumably to the petrol station.

There is also what looks like a 3 bus and 1 car RTC at the roundabout heading up Station Road towards Locksbottom and that road is blocked.

Youths on what are probably stolen scooters are on the Farnborough bypass and Starts Hill Road this evening. No number plates, no helmets, two up on two of the scooters, balaclavas on. Scum on the hunt to rob or steal. Make sure your motorbikes are locked up.

Someone is burning loads of rubber, very strong smell. I have just woken up 01:15 with chest pain because of it and now have to sleep with windows closed, if anybody knows who is doing this, then please comment who, as it is the second night in a row.
