Excited to announce Mark Ridgers Shot Stoppers will be on the road this week! 🚗 ⚽️
Delighted to be invited along by Tain Juniors to take a session with there young aspiring goalkeepers this Wednesday.

Young goalkeepers have a tendency to palm away the ball when diving (they say cause they see it on TV) 😂🫣
So I have been trying to work on decision making to push the ball away from the goal if you are not catching, then working on getting back up sharp dealing with rebounds if that’s not possible 🧤
Encouragement and praise go a long way when teaching and developing young goalkeepers. Keeping them motivated and eager to improve can be challenging, especially when they face setbacks.
Goalkeeping isn’t an easy position—it takes time, patience, and plenty of training to truly understand it. Keep supporting them, keep building them up, and the progress will come 🧤

⭐️ CITC STAR OF THE MONTH 🦌
⚽️ Well done to Seumas Marquis who has been chosen as our County in the Community star of the month for February!
🏅 Seumas has been part of our Personal Development Programme at Charleston Academy for the past couple years and has recently taken up a leadership role in the sessions. He has thrived with the extra responsibility and is setting a great example to the rest of the group.
👏 A well deserved winner, keep smashing it Seumas
Last 1 from last week. Some great goalkeeping overall from the 2 groups but sadly can’t get it all in (1:30min max) 😂
Great to see the improvement and confidence in some GKs after just a few sessions and nice to hear positive feedback from parents 😀

We are back this Tuesday 13th January subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow.
For the time being I am taking bookings for both sessions
6:30-7:25pm & 7:30-8:25pm
As before this will be a first come first served basis.
Direct Messge me to book!
*Please do not pay until I have confirmed the session will take place*
