I'd forgotten about this. Very old fuseboard from the 1920s, apparently. As you can see it has become very brittle and also burnt through the fuse carrier. VIR was well pasted its usable life.
Full rewire throughout the property with a fuseboard upgrade. Couldn't find much information about the old board. Maybe someone here can help.
old school

Single pole switch. Even though its switched off the live is on the neutral allowing power to get through. Always important to test after you've done something electrical. DIY home owner, "well it works" but not safe.

Just a little bit old. Built to last, all still working properly.

Had a weird one today. The light wouldn't turn on. If you undone the screw it will turn on, do it up it turns off. Had me confused 🤣

Is it time for dual RCD boards to disappear? RCBO board are small, tidier and quicker to install in my opinion.

The house was built in 1928, this is probably the original cut out, making it nearly 100 years old and still working. Things got built to last back then.

I think they need a few more joist. Doing downlights downstairs with that lot was not fun. Equal spacing didn't work 😭

Simple little upgrade can make a big difference. Clearing the spiders wasn't fun.
