“In January my daughter was struggling to find comfortable footwear, as her feet swell between dialysis sessions. I ordered a pair of sheepskin boots from Draper of Glastonbury and she was delighted, saying they were a "game changer"...Unfortunately her cat, Nimbus, also loved the boots. He chewed the sole of one boot to shreds and she was very upset.
"I wrote to the company to ask if they could offer a repair service, or failing that, if they had any returned boots in stock that which I could pay for. The company sent a new replacement pair without charge and so I said I would give a donation to charity as we were so appreciative of their kindness.”
So a huge thank you to Marise for her generous donation and to the kind staff at Draper of Glastonbury - and less thanks (but maybe some cheeky ear scratches) to Nimbus!

Given I live in my slippers at the moment I decided to treat myself to some new ones. I bought these. Amazing! I love them. They are so comfortable and look like space boots. Obvs I wear them with the collar up.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard D. Draper, who was both Managing Director and subsequently Chairman of our company, starting his career in 1955. We bid farewell to an extraordinary family man and entrepreneur.
His commitment to the British footwear industry, support of ‘Made in England’ and the building and maintenance of the Draper brand will always be remembered.

Sheepskin is a natural material which has many incredible natural qualities.
It can regulate temperature, keeping you warm when it is cold but also keeping you cool when it is hot. Sheepskin is breathable and will not make your feet sweaty. It is also hygroscopic which means it can absorb a third of its weight in water without becoming damp, thus making sheepskin naturally waterproof. It is also hypoallergenic and amazingly soft and comfortable of course!

This time of year our factory is busy manufacturing for next autumn. Each stage of production requires a huge amount of skill, with many years of practice.
Leatherwork is hard and requires strong hands. There were once thousands of people locally employed in the sheepskin, leather and shoemaking industries, however we are now one of the few factories left.
