1975 AC COBRA REP

Southern Roadcraft engineered AC Cobra rep, which has been constructed using a Jaguar Series 2 XJ6 as the donor car with a 3. 5 SDi V8 Rover engine and 5 speed gearbox as the power plant. All propelled with Jaguar running gear and a Jaguar limited Slip differential. The wheels are the original Compomotive Split Rims. Southern Roadcraft had a reputation of being one of the better engineered AC Cobra replicas of the eighties. Previous owner recently had a £3k spend on the fuel and ignition system which was completely overhauled by Mech Repairs of Cheltenham who specialise in A. C's. The car comes with is complete history in a folder with past MOT and receipts even the original sales blurb. The car has been much loved and used not just viewed, so the body work is in good overall condition but with some age related marks. As the car registered as 1975 on the V5 document it now enjoys historic status meaning it is void of road tax and MOT. An exciting and fun car to drive putting a smile on your face.

HISTORY
The car comes with a complete history from the V5 and past MOTs. Also the original Sales paperwork and construction details. The V5 shows 13 owners however I think they may have included the Jaguar donor car as well. To my knowledge I am the 5th owner of the Cobra.

Paint work and exterior
The car is constructed from fibre glass and finished in Le Mans Blue. Other than small stone chips the overall body is in good condition for its age. The wheel centres are black with plain polished aluminium centres that protect the hubs.

INTERIOR

The interior of the car is limited due to its size and to my knowledge the carpet, seats and door trims have never been replaced however they show signs of wear due to age. The dash board and seat belts have been replaced due to the originals being sun bleached. There is a pram frame roof however I have never used it and will need possible repair. The car comes with tonneau cover. The car has always been garaged so the tonneau cover has all thats been required

JAGUAR XJC V12 VERY RARE 603 RHD CARS EVER PRODUCED

The Coupé incarnation of Jaguar's ground-breaking XJ saloon didn't peek from showrooms until 1975, although it had been announced publicly rather earlier, back at the 1973 London Show. Its original design dated from even earlier still as it was developed alongside the original Series 1 XJ back in the late 60s and in fact the company even issued project numbers for the Series 1 Coupés - XJ33 for the six-cylinder and XJ34 for the V12- although they were destined never to be produced. Instead, the car was launched in Series 2 form known as XJ35 and XJ36 respectively. However, a combination of Sir William Lyons' frequent tweaking of the design and engineering 'issues' with the roof panel and side windows, meant that it was early 1975 before the first XJ-Cs would glide stylishly out of Jaguar Showrooms.

The Coupé was based on the short wheelbase version of the XJ and offered in 4.2 and 5.3 engine sizes known as either the Sovereign from Jaguar or the Double Six from Daimler. In 1978, just 329 Jaguar XJ12 5.3 Coupés were built by the factory making this particular car a very rare production model. In fact, only 1,800 were ever made by the factory in total and ONLY 603 RHD CARS.

The XJ 5.3C in question here has formed part of the well-known Private collection, Harry Metcalfe, It’s a rare 1978 right-hand drive, automatic transmission example which Harry purchased originally with the intention of restoring it but then spotted the manual XJ-C that he’s recently restored instead (as you’ll see on his famous YouTube channel). Consequently, this rare Coupé is now surplus to requirements.

Before Harry bought it, the previous owner commissioned a substantial amount of work to the mechanical aspects of the car by Alan Lloyd Motors, investing over £10,000 at the time, all detailed in the accompanying history file. This classic Jaguar offers lots of potential but the bodywork does need a little TLC and consequently, we encourage all interested parties to come to the our premises and satisfy themselves as to what might need to be done.

This is an excellent opportunity to either use and enjoy this elegant 70s V12 Coupé as it is, or further invest in bodywork and cosmetics to take it to the next level

1975 XJC DAIMLER COUPE 4.2 / AMAZING CONDITON

******** CAR NOW SOLD ********

Asking price £10000 offers over

The Saloon was available in standard or long wheelbase variant but this was to soon be joined by the striking and iconic pillarless coupe, crafted around the short wheelbase and adorned with black vinyl-covered roofs. The coupe retained the saloon's supple all-round independent coil and wishbone suspension, disc brakes and power steering and was available with either the 4. 2 litre straight-six XK unit or the 5. 3 litre, V12.

The Daimler Sovereign is the significantly rarer variant of Jaguars iconic 70s pillarless coupe, with just 1, 677 Daimler Sovereign 4. 2 Coupés reportedly produced by the time production ended in 1978 with 613 built in 1977 and only 6 in the final year.

We are delighted to offer this well-presented and sympathetically preserved example that is finished in the striking combination of Red exterior complemented by the black vinyl roof in exceptional condition and a luxurious black leather interior. The car is still accompanied by a host of original Daimler literature and books and sits as a beautiful example that is ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

EXTREMELY RARE 1969 JENSEN INTERCEPTOR FF 11 ( Ferguson Formula )

* One of just 327 Jensen FFs (Ferguson Formula) produced and only 107 FF II manufactured
* UK-supplied example which is understood to be mostly complete
* Previous ownership since 2002 as a restoration project before being stripped and stored
* Previous ownership from approximately twenty years
* A very scarce opportunity to purchase an FF ready for restoration
The Jensen FF is a four-wheel-drive grand tourer produced between 1966 and 1971. It was the first non-all-terrain production car equipped with four-wheel drive preceding the renowned and successful Audi Quattro and Subaru’s of many years later and featured an anti-lock braking system, the Dunlop Maxaret mechanical system, used hitherto only on aircraft, trucks, and racing cars. The letters FF stand for Ferguson Formula after Ferguson Research Limited who invented the car's system. Similar-looking to the rear-wheel-drive Jensen Interceptor but five inches longer and mechanically very different, it is distinguishable from the Interceptor by a few styling cues; the most obvious being the twin (rather than single) diagonal air vents on the front wing just rear of the wheel-arches.

Manufactured in 1970, ‘BGK 47H’ is one of just 107 FF II’s manufactured and is fitted with the 6276cc V8 engine mated to the three-speed automatic transmission. Entering into current ownership in 2002 as a restoration project, the Jensen had resided in the previous custodianship for approximately twenty years beforehand. Stripped down for some bodywork repairs, the Jensen has been stored for many years since and is now a scarcely offered example ready for restoration. Thought to be mostly complete (although the bonnet, lights and badges are known to be missing), ‘BGK 47H’ is accompanied for sale by a blue V5C document. A large selection of further photographs is also available on request.

Registration No: BBY 81G
Chassis No: 115 3366
MOT: Exempt

1 of just 923 RHD, Automatic MKIs manufactured
Displays a credible but unwarranted 61,500 miles
Finished in Cherry Red with contrasting Chocolate upholstery
Current keeper of 27 years and benefitting dry storage for the latter 20 years
We had the engine running , a very worthwhile and rewarding restoration opportunity

Introduced in 1966, the Interceptor was built in West Bromwich for a period of 10 years evolving from the original MkI through to the final MkIV a decade later in 1976. The MkI is the rarest version as only 923 were built and we believe just 30 or so survive today. The all steel bodyshell was styled by Carrozzeria Touring in Italy and built by Vignale, arriving in the Midlands to then be paired with the inimitable 6.3-litre Chrysler V8 allied to automatic transmission. When new it cost substantially more than an Aston Martin and was double the price of an E-Type Jaguar.

This particular example is the rarest and most desirable MKI and a late production model, built just prior to the launch of the MKII in 1969. Finished in bright Cherry Red with contrasting chocolate leather upholstery, with exception to light wear to the driver’s seat bolster the overall condition of the upholstery remains in good order. The vendor reports the chassis remains in good order along with the engine running and showing good oil pressure albeit with a misfire (prospective bidders are encouraged to satisfy themselves on this point). Discovered following 20 years of dry storage in the hands of the fifth owner and current keeper of some 27 years, this rare and collectable MKI registers c.61,500 recorded miles which we understand could well be correct.

BBY 81G is certainly a rare opportunity to acquire such a collectable MKI Interceptor, also offering the rewarding opportunity to return this glorious 6.3 V8 back to its former status. Surely given its rarity, this must be an appreciating classic!

The R107 Mercedes SL is one of the most elegant and successful cars to ever be produced by Mercedes-Benz. In production between 1971 and 1989, the R107 generation of SL was built during a golden era of Mercedes build quality and high-class engineering.

In 1985 the R107 was updated with an improved front suspension and a choice of new engines which helped to improve comfort, handling and performance. This 1988 example is a 300SL which is powered by the smooth Mercedes 3.0-litre inline-six cylinder engine that's ideal for long distance cruising. Presented in white and with 158,000 miles from new, the car is in a presentable condition for its age and has recently had a respray to bring the car up to an acceptable standard. The convertible soft-top is in good condition, and there is also a hard-top included in the sale. Recent work on the car includes a new front gearbox pipe, new fuel lines and pipes, and a new fuel pump (with filter). The car has also been fully welded, wax oiled and MOT'd with a full engine service and transmission flush. A cherished example.
