The look she wanted to achieve was to take the blonde higher up but leaving her natural root. So I suggested a natural face frame would be a great look keeping it lighter around the face gives the feeling of it being lighter but with also keeping the dimension running through it too.

Zone colouring @redken layer upon layer of permanent colour will only cause a build up as the ends of the hair are much more porous so will end up a lot darker than the root area. Splitting the hair into zones allows for an even colour.
