The Mental Capacity Drain
Most people don’t suddenly reach crisis.
Pressure builds over time.
Life events, work demands, financial worries, health challenges and relationship pressures all compete for our mental capacity.
Eventually, even simple tasks can start to feel overwhelming.
The 8Wise Project CIC exists to help people recognise and manage these pressures before they reach breaking point.

Your help is needed!
Hi, I’m Kim, founder of The 8Wise® Project CIC, a new community interest company created to make practical mental health and wellbeing support more accessible to local people living in the south west region (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire).
We’re currently gathering local insight to help us understand what support people actually need across our communities.
If you have 5 minutes, I’d really appreciate you completing our short survey.
Your answers will help us shape future workshops, resources, community support and funding applications, so we can create something genuinely useful for local people.
The survey is anonymous and only takes around 5 minutes.
Link in comments or comment SURVEY and we’ll send it to you directly.
Thank you so much for supporting a new local CIC trying to make practical mental health and wellbeing support more accessible.

There Has To Be A Better Way
Most wellbeing advice sounds something like:
“Take a bath.”
“Go for a walk.”
“Practice self-care.”
While those things can help, they don’t always address the real reasons people feel overwhelmed.
Many people are trying to manage stressful life events, increasing pressures and growing demands that impact their mental capacity, wellbeing and quality of life.
That’s why The 8Wise Project CIC exists.
We’re here to help people better understand what’s happening in their lives, why they feel overwhelmed, and what practical steps they can take to move forward.
Through education, workshops, resources and community support, we want to make practical mental health and wellbeing support more accessible to everyone.
Because lasting wellbeing starts with understanding.
The 8Wise Project CIC didn’t start with a business plan.
It started with a question.
Why are so many people reaching breaking point before they receive support?
After years working as a psychotherapist, I knew something needed to change.
This CIC is my answer.
Not just supporting people through crisis, but helping prevent it in the first place.
Can we be honest?
Too much support arrives after people reach breaking point.
Waiting lists grow.
Pressure builds.
People struggle silently.
We believe there is a better way.
The 8Wise Project CIC exists to help people earlier, before life becomes unmanageable.
Prevention before crisis.
The Flag in the Ground
It’s official.
The 8Wise Project CIC has arrived.
We’re on a mission to help people better manage the pressures and overwhelm of modern life before they become mental health crises.
This is the beginning of something new for the South West.
A grassroots movement focused on prevention, education and practical support.
Join us from day one.

I was asked today what are the key issues we plan to support our South West Communities with through the 8Wise Project CIC.
1. Managing Stress Inducing Life Events that increase pressure, cause emotional overwhelm, reduce our mental capacity and negatively impact our health and mental wellbeing.
2. Neurodivergent support for those with late diagnosis (formal diagnosis, self diagnosis and early identification). We plan to help people navigate neurodivergence by learning to accept and understand themselves through a neurodivergent lens, process and accept their past based on that understanding and develop effective coping strategies and life management strategies that help them manage a life effectively for them, free of guilt shame.
3. Mental Health and wellbeing support, helping people manage stress, burnout, anxiety, depression and low self esteem. We want to help people tackle the core issues that can lie at the centre of who we are and can escalate mental health deterioration and impact our quality of life
We want to provide:
Training
Support Groups
Digital Resources
Programmes
A safe space for personal development
If these are topics you care about, are interested in or might even want to get involved with please support, share and follow.

After years working across mental health, wellbeing and life management, I kept seeing the same pattern:
Good people becoming overwhelmed by modern life.
Pressure builds.
Mental capacity drops.
And many people are left trying to silently hold everything together.
For a long time, I’ve wanted to create something more accessible, more preventative, and more focused on helping people before crisis point.
Over the past few months, that vision has quietly been taking shape behind the scenes.
On Monday, I’ll finally be sharing more about it.

We’ve finally done it…
After years of development, planning, learning, refining, and supporting people through stress, overwhelm, burnout and life’s challenges, we’re incredibly proud to officially introduce The 8Wise® Project CIC.
This is something Kim has wanted to build for a very long time.
Over the years, through her work in mental health, wellbeing, leadership and human development, she kept seeing the same pattern:
- Good people becoming overwhelmed by modern life.
- Pressure building.
- Mental capacity dropping leading to mental health issues.
- People struggling silently whilst trying to hold everything together.
And too often, support only becoming available once people had already reached crisis point and were in pain.
The 8Wise® Project CIC has been created to help change that.
Using the 8Wise® Method, the CIC will provide psychology-led wellbeing education, practical support, community projects, workshops, resources and awareness initiatives designed to help people better manage the pressures and overwhelm of modern life, before those pressures develop into longer-term mental health and wellbeing difficulties.
Because prevention matters.
Understanding matters.
And people deserve support before breaking point.
This is only the beginning, but it’s a milestone we're incredibly proud of and deeply passionate about.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far and we hope yiu will join us in the next chapter.
