π Coming up this Friday:
Communities across the UK are coming together to watch the Peopleβs Emergency Briefing - and start the conversation about our future.
We're hosting the briefing (recommended for ages 16+) in collaboration with in The Planetary Lab Barnstaple from 3-5pm this Friday 28th August, and the following Tuesday 1st September.
One of the experts featured is Prof Tim Lenton OBE - the inspiring local climate scientist who informed our Positive Tipping Points exhibit, and he talks about these tipping points in the film!
It's free to attend (though donations gratefully received) - come and join us for the briefing plus a facilitated discussion with tea, coffee, biscuits - and hope! π

Great day Exeter.Library today for a Demystifying AI pop-up event, thanks so much to Libraries Unlimited for inviting and hosting us!
Huge thanks also to the brilliant team supporting us - the fantastic RunningDogTheatreCIC who are fab at engaging people with the activities π...
.. and the inspiring University of Exeter academics from the Computer Science Department who are researching how to use AI for good - in so many different areas, from satellite science and Earthquake detection to more efficient air traffic control and healthcare! ππ°οΈβοΈ

π This Saturday we're excited to have local archeology experts visiting The Planetary Lab as part of the No one's Moon Project! π
We'll have talks and themed activities repeated from 10 until 2pm with Prof Jamie Hampson from University of Exeter speaking about "The anaconda in the sky: indigenous rock art and 100,000 years of beliefs about space"...
... And Jowan Albon from Teignbridge Archeology Society speaking about "The Moon before history: how prehistoric Britain saw the night sky".

Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse! We loved it and we loved making 100 pinhole camera solar eclipse viewers with you guys! We wanted to do a big shout out to Deichmann, Pavers, Clarks and Shoe Zone in Barnstaple, who gave us all the shoe boxes! Thank you!
