The theme of Mencap’s Learning Disability week 2026 is ‘Do you see me’.

This is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. Learning disabilities and specific learning needs are often missed in nurseries, schools and colleges, presenting in a range of ways including difficulties with attention, emotions and behaviours including school anxiety and avoidance.

EPIC Solutions offer holistic assessments of need including formal assessment for learning disability and specific learning needs.

EPIC’s ADHD nurse specialist will be running another parent/carer group information session on 23rd June.

Feedback is always positive and places book up fast so do contact [email protected] to book your place.

The session is open to any parents/carers, diagnosis of ADHD does not have to be made through EPIC.

EPIC are now an NHS Right to Choose provider for Autism assessment age 8-18 years.

Please note this is a separate pathway to our private Autism assessments. Referrals can be made to us by your GP.

Friday 5th June is United Nations World Environment Day, an international call for action to protect our environment.

EPIC have been true to our environment and sustainability policy in planning our refurbishment by considering our sourcing, recycling, composting, accessibility and design.

Come along and see at our Open Door event on June 29th 4-7pm. All are welcome.

Devon Information Advice & Support run free online training every term for Devon parent carers with a child or young person with SEND.

The sessions cover two main topics.

• SEND support - The law and principles, how support is planned and given and the SEND system.

• Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans - Understanding your child's plan and the review process.

All their workshop sessions focus on your role as parent carer and what you can do to support your child and work with professionals. They cover the facts and give lots of practical strategies and ideas to use. There is plenty of time for questions too.
