Before and after shots of an unused front patio space now turned mint planting area 🍃🍃
Full days work of weeding, carrying lots of heavy things up and down steps 😂, relevelling and getting mucky with the pea shingle, planting mint and sourcing solar lights. Looking forward to seeing the mint in full bloom very soon 💕
Fun fact: Mint also helps deter mosquitoes, flies and spiders.

What does Spring mean to you?

Due to the bad weather so far in 2023 we've had to postpone some of our gardening tasks meaning we are taking provisional bookings (* weather pending) from the second week of February onwards.

Luke F, a Year 13 Geography student, has put his design skills to great use creating an iconic East Devon Bus Map. Luke was inspired by the London Tube map, which was originally the brainchild of Underground electrical draughtsman, Harry Beck, who produced an imaginative and beautifully simple design back in 1933. Rather than emphasising distance and geographical accuracy, like other maps, Beck based his on the circuit diagrams he drew for his day job; stripping the sprawling Tube network down to a neat diagram of coloured, criss-crossing lines.
Luke followed the same approach with the iconic bus routes of East Devon producing a map that looks and feels as if it was produced by a professional transport group. Luke is keen to pursue a career in transport logistics.

A lovely hour and a half spent volunteering with Exmouth in Bloom yesterday helping a great team of volunteers empty the flower planters outside the train station, salvage the plants that can be repotted and reuse the soil on the wavy beds by the roundabout down the road. We then weeded and tidied up the area where the planters had been ready for brand new planters to be delivered on Friday. The old planters which have been used for the last 40 years still have plenty of life in them and have been rehomed to Brixham where they’ll have many more years of life. A very efficient process and well organized - if you want to volunteer with Exmouth in Bloom check out their social media pages or website for contact details - you’d be made to feel extremely welcome and it’s a great team to be a part of. 😃
