Great to welcome Kirstie onboard from Streetwork/Simon Community Scotland to discuss collective support across Edinburgh. Streetwork Simon Community Scotland

We are now running online booking for our Monday and Thursday sailing and training days, and it's working very well. This will help us to manage capacity and make sure everyone has a seat.

Safer by Sound had a great sail last week and ERA Edinburgh Recovery Activities join us today! 😊

Outreach this morning is being delivered by Simona and our new volunteer, Emily.

Our Wednesday groups enjoyed a great session with Anna from Floramedica last week, making pesto from wild garlic collected near Harrison Park. Spring has definitely sprung! Have a great day everyone! 🏡🌸

Thank you so much to Nathan from Go Forth and Clyde for the brilliant boat key rings! Nathan designed, 3d printed and assembled them. Let us know if you would like one. We have Panacea and Gryphon.
Martin carried out a full service for Panacea last week, and the w**d hatch was cleared of a fair amount of plastic.
Lots of sailing and learning and looking forward to bringing on new RYA Helms soon.
Karen attended an excellent networking and learning event with EVOC last week and we are now planning for our open afternoon on Thursday the 14th of May with Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust and Polwarth Parish Church . More news about that in the coming weeks.

After 2 1/2 years volunteering with us, we wished Mary well as she returns to her local bowling team. We will miss you Mary and thank you for all your support! Join us any time for a sail! ❀️ Judy made a beautiful bead portrait of Teddy!

Good afternoon everyone! We have lots of activity going on going into Spring. 🌻 Great sailing and learning taking place with Mark, along with crafting and Reiki with Grace. Simona is supporting us onboard and with outreach. Look out for Simona at ERA Edinburgh Recovery Activities sessions quite soon.
We have a First Aid course with Frans in April. Training Enterprises Scotland and a Volunteer Open Day in May, all in partnership with Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust and Polwarth Parish Church (All Aboard)

It will be great to continue our sailing with Safer by sound and we look forward to seeing Edinburgh Recovery Activities rejoining us in April.
In addition, we have a dedicated group with the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and feedback from participants is great! Hope you enjoy the photos. 🌞

Hello February 2026!

Our Instructor, Mark is supporting new crew members as well as making epic soup! We are seeing some great sailing and crew support from Chelsea, Doug and Alistair. The authentic minestrone soup was very welcome yesterday on what was a very cold day! (authenticity confirmed by Simona 😁) Grace is delivering focused crafting sessions and we are all looking forward to her famous lentil soup on Monday!

We are planning First Aid training in the spring with Frans as well as a dedicated volunteer information day in March with our partners Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust / Re-Union Canal Boats and All Aboard/Polwarth Polwarth Parish Church

We celebrated Judy's Birthday yesterday and Simona (University of Edinburgh) is settling in very well supporting us both onboard Panacea and with community outreach sessions.

We welcomed Safer by sound onboard this week and thank you to crew member Jackie for supporting their sail.

A new catering service has opened next to Leamington Lift Bridge. A welcome replacement since the departure of the coffee boat.

The days are getting longer and lighter and Spring is just around the corner.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful start to the year! πŸ₯° πŸ’ͺπŸ†

Good morning everyone and Happy New Year! πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

We are sharing a New Year message from the inspirational Liliana Myres whose words reached us and we hope they reach you too.

Thank you to Cicely for the wonderful article in Towpath Talk. We will share that soon.

We will be thinking of Simon and Ron and their dear friends and families. Simon Jaquet and Ron Rusack, both friends of The Sorted Project, sadly died very recently. Their lives were quietly bold, brave and kind and they each leave great legacies. We will miss them.

"A new year arrives quietly, carrying both hope and responsibility in equal measure.

It’s a reminder that beginnings don’t always come with perfect timing or clear plans for everyone, but they do come with possibility.

A new year doesn’t erase the past, but it gives us space to write the next chapter differently.

With fresh pages ahead, may we step forward with courage, integrity, love and hope, ready to meet whatever comes, and willing to grow through it.

Some questions I’ve learned to use in the past years and I’m giving them to you now, hoping they will help you.

β€˜So what?
Why not?
What now?
What if?’

May you all have the most amazing
2026!!!"

It's been a wonderful week of sailing, soup, crafting, online meetings, setting up the Christmas Tree and receiving very welcome funding results from The Robertson Trust, Barcapel Foundation, EVOC and the Thomas Wall Trust. We will highlight the work we will be doing with their support very soon.

We plan to pilot a new online booking system in January as we are now so busy, we want to make sure booking is as simple and straightforward as possible. In addition, new volunteers, Trevor and Alistair, sailed Trevor's boat, Skean-Dhu II, from Auchenstarry to Linlithgow yesterday! What a great achievement! We hope Trevor will be very happy in his new home. I see new RYA Helms in the making!

Jackie and Dougie will be taking part in Leamington Lift Bridge training on Monday with friends at Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust

However, its also been a bitter sweet week this week as we heard of the passing of our good friend, Simon Jaquet. Director of Simon Jaquet Consultancy Services Ltd. As well as being a well crafted musician and songwriter, Simon has been a youth worker, manager, volunteer, chief executive, and board member. He has worked in the third sector for more than 45 years, including as founder and director of Fast Forward Positive Lifestyles Ltd 1987 - 2001 and Chief Executive of YouthLink Scotland 2001 - 2004. He set up Simon Jaquet Consultancy Services Ltd in 2004. Working at the interface between the third and public sectors, he specialised in research, evaluation, and organisational development. Simon supported our 5 year business plan and feasibility study for Panacea, and introduced us to many people we continue to link with. He sailed with us at the launch with his wife, Caroline. Sincere condolences to all who knew him and loved him. We will miss him. ❀️

It's such a beautiful time of year to be on our canals. It's soup season and we have had a busy week. The Bothy Mum's group had a great sail with us on Wednesday, and we arrived to a toasty boat on Thursday having added some extra heating onboard Panacea. Leamington Lift Bridge training is booked with friends at Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust in December, and Professional Boundaries training certificates have been received. We will soon be planning First Aid training with Frans. Let us know if you would like to join us. Enjoy the photos and hope you have a great weekend! 🌞🫢
