Signed Songs R Us are a choir of Deaf, Hard of Hearing and hearing people translating songs into the beautiful visual language of British Sign Language.
Signed Songs R Us started after Tayside Deaf Hub held a Celebration Day in September 2013. A group of Deaf people got together with Jennifer Ramsay and signed 2 songs for the event, Sailing by Rod Stewart and Celebration by Kool and the Gang. Today marks the anniversary of the BSL Act becoming law, recognising BSL as a language of Great Britain! π β

Did you know that fingerspelling positively correlates with stronger reading skills? Deaf and hard of hearing children who are good fingerspellers are good readers, and vice versaβ !β

The fingerspelling alphabet is used in sign language to spell out names of people and places for which there is not a sign. Fingerspelling can also be used to spell words for signs that the signer does not know the sign for, or to clarify a sign that is not known by the person reading the signer.
