This week I was honoured to host the 25th Anniversary of LifeLine Projects at the House of Lords.

It was a privilege to welcome Lifeline and celebrate the incredible work they have done over the past 25 years. I was delighted to give the opening address and reflect on the positive impact Lifeline continues to make in communities, as well as the important work that still lies ahead.

Congratulations to Lifeline on this remarkable milestone and thank you to everyone who joined the celebration 🥳

We were honoured to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Lifeline Projects at the House of Lords this week and we thank everyone that celebrated with us.

We would also like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Lord Shaun Bailey for hosting us at the House of Lords and for his inspiring opening speech. It meant a great deal to mark this milestone in such a significant place and reflect on the work still ahead.

We would like to share the following statement from Rachel, Chris Lane's sister-in-law.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Christopher John Lane's unexpected passing on Friday, February 6th.

Christopher was a man of honour and integrity, whose life was marked by remarkable achievements and a profound impact on those around him. From completing The Duke of Edinburgh Award to running four half marathons for charity, he lived a life full of purpose and dedication.

Christopher's greatest legacy, however, lies in his work with the youth. He volunteered in numerous third-world countries and tirelessly supported young people across the UK, helping them grow into confident adults. His commitment to family and community was unwavering, and he was truly the heart of our family.

He touched the lives of everyone he met, always ready to lend a hand or offer support. His absence leaves a void not only in our family but in the many communities he served. We are raising funds to honour his memory and support those he cared for so deeply. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us during this difficult time.

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our colleague and friend, Chris Lane, Lead Youth Development Worker at LifeLine Projects.

Chris devoted his life to supporting young people who were often unheard, unseen, and at risk of being left behind. Through his work, he created safe spaces, built trust, and helped young people believe in themselves and their futures.

Chris was a mentor, a leader, and a constant source of encouragement. His commitment to safeguarding, partnership working, and empowering young people will continue to inspire everything we do.

Our thoughts are with Chris’s family, friends, colleagues, and the many young people whose lives he changed.

Rest in peace, Chris. You will never be forgotten.

On Friday, we were delighted to meet with Wes Streeting MP who visited our mental health service in Redbridge and spoke with CEO Nathan Singleton and members of our LifeLine Projects Families and FaithAction teams as well as beneficiaries taking part in one of our art sessions.
