Forget-me-not toys and books

Whats your favourite book? I am currently reading something that isn't about Yoga actually-which makes a change! 'The year of magical thinking' by Joan Didion! (her memoir).

My bookshelf's are full of Yoga books as you can imagine but I just love to read! I love how it can take you off into another imaginary world and make you feel so grounded and content! 😌
🙌On another plus it really helps me to write when I read!

If you love books and reading Forget-me-not toys and books book shop in Culcheth have lots to choose from
Want to learn how to use things in person? We can still do it (just somewhat differently from the photo that was taken a loooooong time ago! It seems weird to see no masks or social distancing!)!

Consultations are still running and we've had lots of very happy people book and learn with us! And you can too! Follow this link:

[Photo description for screen readers: Be warned this is a busy photo and it was taken four and a bit years ago so prepare for a lot of words and some cheap laughs thrown in at my own expense!

The librarian (Rachael) and her female customer are stood a book shop/cafe (Forget-me-not toys and books before they moved)! Rachael is yet to discover really bright hair dye and that crisps don't make her ill so looks quite different to how you see her now! She is showing the customer how to tighten the toddler Connecta the customer is wearing on her back. The Connecta is dark teal with light teal spots, and has a doll in that is much smaller than toddler size but was the best we'd got! The customer is watching closely clearly soaking in the wisdom that Rachael is imparting to her.]
Thank you so much for our prize! “That’s Not My Lion” has gone down a treat. 🦁 Loving the bag too!!
A lovely shop full of quality books and toys for a range of ages. Helpful and friendly owner.
Thanks so much for our competition prize , we loved coming in this morning , the shop is wonderful, well stocked , fab toys to play with and Yvonne was so friendly and helpful, we’ll be back very soon xx
Hi, are you able to order in particular items at all if it’s a brand you stock anyway? Thank you
Curtis was so excited to receive his prize from the Where's Wally hunt. Thanks again forget-me-not toys and books. He's sticker mad, so the perfect prize, he's over the moon
Brilliant book and toy shop in the CPS Centre. I first got to know Forget-me-not when my wife and I used to visit Culcheth every week to look after our first and then second granddaughters. It has remained a favourite ever since. The range of stock is very good for such a smallish interior but covers the full range from simple board and colourg books right up to books for all ages, including adults. There's an excellent selection of toys and children are encouraged to explore. The only problem will be dragging them away from such a treasure-trove of goodies. Vicky, the owner, is really friendly and loves to hear how children progress as they learn to read and then develop their individual interests. Yes, I know we all also shop online, but NOTHING can beat browsing a brilliant bookshop like this. I heartily recommend Forget-me-not.
Blake was very excited after nursery to go and collect his prize! Thank you forget-me-not for our game! We love orchard games and made up to add this to our collection 🍏🍒🥦🥕🌽
Have u closed down or just moved

We have made some special memories & extra special friends at FMN. A place that as a new first time mummy, I felt at home & made some amazing mummy friends. After going back to work, it was still a place we could visit with those terrible two's & nana loved story time too.
Thank you so much for being such a wonderful place. We are sad you are closing but will be visiting the toy shop still I'm sure. Love Theia & me. X###

This is such a lovely idea and it’s becoming a quite the tradition here, adopted from Icelands “Jolabokaflod“ or Christmas Books Flood, to snuggle up with a new book and some chocolate on Christmas Eve.
What could be better? UK

Cosy Crime, an Oxymoron?
Can we describe crime as cosy? Certainly this genre is increasingly popular, just look at the success of Richard Osman and The Thursday Murder Club and there is nothing better than curling up and escaping into a crime novel, where violence often occurs off the page and we can all attempt to solve the mystery. UK

Scrummy, Yummy Hot Chocolate Sticks are back!

🎁Thank you so much for all the lovely gifts we have received so far for the Neighbourhoods in Warrington Toy Appeal.🎁
🥰As always you have been extremely generous and we still have until 2nd December to collect, so if you possibly can donate a new toy, chocolate or toiletries, however small it really will put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.🥰

Did you catch this week‘s episode of Between the Covers on BBC2? Ruth Jones chose The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak as her BYOB.
A brilliant novel, a love story but so much more and gloriously narrated by a fig tree.
As Ruth Jones says “You should be utterly, utterly excited. I tell everybody to read this.”

🎅Just sold a copy of The Night Before Christmas for a Baby Shower gift - what a lovely choice.🎅
Will be reaching for my copy and reading for the first time this year, it’s one of my favourite festive reads!

A beautiful book……

In November & December Booktime, we take a look at A Ukrainian Christmas by Nadiyka Gerbish & Yaroslav Hrytsak. A beautifully illustrated book exploring the yuletide culture and traditions of the country, it was first published to acclaim in Ukraine in 2020. This new English language edition features a foreword written by the authors following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February 2022.
