I think a lot of women in their 40s and beyond are curious about injectables, but are also a little scared of them.

And I get it!

We’ve all seen faces where the first thing you notice is the filler. Lips that have become the feature. Cheeks that look overdone. Faces that no longer move quite like faces. 🫣

But that isn't the inevitable result of having injectables.

Good aesthetic treatments should be considered, conservative and appropriate for 'your' face.

As we age, we lose volume, facial structure changes, skin becomes thinner and areas that never bothered us before can start to look different.

Injectables can be used to replace some of that lost volume, restore support where it's needed, soften lines or muscle movement, and improve skin quality.

Not to create bigger lips or bigger cheeks simply because we can.

Sometimes, it's less about adding something new and more about restoring a little of what's changed.

“My skin always looks better in summer.”

You’re not imagining it. There are reasons your skin can appear clearer or calmer during the summer months.

But looking better temporarily doesn’t necessarily mean your skin is healthier.

UV can temporarily suppress inflammation, while a tan can make redness and post-acne marks less noticeable. Meanwhile, the damage from that UV exposure is still happening in the background.

And this is where I sometimes hear people suggest using a tanning bed for acne. Just a quick session to “dry it out” or calm a breakout.

Please don’t.

It may make your acne *look* better temporarily, but it isn’t treating the acne. You’re simply adding UV damage to skin that already needs support.

Enjoy the sunshine, protect your skin, wear your SPF and treat acne with things that actually address what’s going on in the skin. ☀️

Clearer-looking skin and healthier skin aren’t always the same thing.

Natural results will always be the goal. Who doesn't want that?

I'll be 43 in two weeks, and these are the five things that have paid off for me.

There are so many products and treatments promising amazing results, but these are the ones I'd happily spend my money on again and again.

I'm curious... what would make your list?

The treatment room should be a place where you can relax, ask questions and feel comfortable, not somewhere you feel you have to explain or apologise.

Whether you're booking your first facial, considering aesthetics, dealing with a breakout, or simply not knowing where to start, you're welcome here.

There is no expectation to know which treatment you need or what products to use before you walk through the door. That's what I'm here for.

Sometimes that means recommending professional skincare. Sometimes it means sending you to the pharmacy with a simple list of products. If that's what's best for your skin, that's exactly what I'll do.

My priority is helping you achieve healthy skin, not selling you something you don't need.

It's funny how much easier it is to open up when you feel comfortable.

Maybe it's the quiet.
Maybe it's the massage.
Maybe it's simply having an hour that's just for you.

Whatever it is, I'm always honoured when people feel comfortable enough to open up. And every story stays in the treatment room! 🤭

Plot twist: I'm posting again Monday. 😂

One of my favourite moments is tucking someone in before their treatment begins.

It's the point where they stop thinking about everything else and simply rest.

Waiting for a reason to book a facial?

This is it... or maybe it isn't. 😉

Looking after your skin doesn't need a special occasion. Sometimes "I feel like it" is reason enough.
