Auntie Betty's Vintage Tea Party

Enjoyed homemade scones with a cuppa this afternoon. Served up on a stunning tea set from British Red Cross charity shop at chesterfield.

Hosted a tea party today for my own kings, queens, princes and princesses for our ‘Queens Jubilee’ (my sis getting in the vintage spirit)

Is there anything more comforting than holding those you love in an embrace, feeling their skin on yours and breathing them in? For our patients facing the end of their lives, being able to hold their loved ones close is even more important. That's why we wanted to get a 'cuddle bed', and with thanks to The Morrisons Foundation (Morrisons Chesterfield) we've been able to buy one.

The Morrisons Foundation donated an incredible £20,000 to help us buy our very first 'cuddle bed' for our Inpatient Unit at Old Brampton.

The bed is able to transform into a double bed allowing patients and their loved ones to lie together, just like they would at home. This is so important to our patients, as their wish is to experience life as normally as possible, regardless of their illness.

Families will be able to cuddle up close and watch their favourite movies, read, enjoy shared pastimes, or look out at the hospice gardens together. Children and grandchildren will be able to hop up onto the bed to allow for the loving, bonding and comforting cuddles they need.

The cuddle bed will allow families to lie with their loved one, comfort them and give them precious hugs at the very end of life.

Of all the tea parties I’ve done, this was my most humbling...surprised the neighbours with an afternoon tea on VE Day (lady of the manor was camera shy) 😉

Loved every minute hosting for my own heroes.....(husband camera shy) 🙄

Always proud of my very own, surviving heroes, but today.....no words!!!

Felt as excited as a child opening a Russian doll. I went to collect 3 suitcases I’d purchased, from a ladies late uncle! Opened the smallest one and another was hiding in there, opened that one, and yet another was in there too. So got 5 of these beauties instead of the 3! Will look amazing at the wedding I’m hosting in July!
