[03/16/20]   Greetings Family and Friends

Hope everyone is safe and well. To think that such a microscopic organism(Covid-19), can create gigantic consequences, confusion and concerns on mental, emotional, physical health and financial worries. It brought home to me how so fundamentally important why it is to have more than one income stream. I have always been in employment from the age 18 and only had a 2 year break when I had my lovely son, so it was a shock to the system, when 12 years ago I was made redundant from my university teaching post. I have to say I felt embarrassed and ashamed to have been put in that situation and I promised myself that I would never be beholden again to someone deciding whether I could put food on the table.
I am so full of gratitude for having been introduced to having my Arbonne business which provides me and my family with diverse income streams and at a time like this, it has become profoundly evident that having the freedom of an online business, run from my phone/laptop, has been a Godsend. I am so passionate about others having such an opportunity, having fun and being part of an amazing community of givers who support, give kindness are motivating and inspiring.
Always happy to share with people what I do and how it might be just want they want or know someone who could benefit from the information.
Stay blessed

Who wants to reduce their risk of heart disease, hypertension, strokes, type 2 diabetes? Always good to bear in mind the types of fats we use/consume in our diet.
Love this image from the American Heart Foundation.

[04/16/19]   Nutrition as medicine for mental ill-health

As a follow up to my message yesterday, I thought some work done by Sarris et al (2015) was worth sharing, especially as more recent work in this area on diet and mental health was highlighted last week on the BBC.
Sarris et al ( 2015) argues that nutrition should be prominent in the treatment and prevention of mental disorders.
Diet is a crucial to both physical and mental well-being. Diets consist of highly processed, nutrient poor, energy dense foods, often means that people are both undernourished and overfed.
The human brain requires a large proportion of energy and nutrient intake as it has a high metabolic rate. It is therefore detrimental to brain structure and function when the diet is deficient in vitamins, minerals, fats and amino acids.
Much evidence has shown that healthy dietary patters are associated with positive mental health outcomes such as reduced risk of depression, anxiety and su***de. Additionally, research has shown that using nutrient based supplements (such as omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, B vitamins and vitamin D) may be effective in the treatment of mental disorders. It is quite common that for many people diet on a regular basis may lack these important supplements

[04/15/19]   Who thinks what we eat can have an effect on our mental health?

Just decided to do something different with sweet potato and made sweet potatoe and coriander burgers and having it with baked smoked haddock. Can't wait to tick in..sweet potatoe burger so easy and quick to do. Seasoned with onions, garlic, coriander, corn, scotch bonnet (love the heat of that) and corn and breadcrumbs..have go too..

Hello family, friends and acquaintances
As usual for this time of the year, we see loads of adverts on various wonder diets and pills. What really sustains weight loss and improvements in health and well-being is actually having our eating styles and pattern become part of our lifestyle. Small changes can lead to sustained improvements in how we feel and look. From the 14th January I will be doing a 30 day lifestyle programme that has had great success for so many people. I would love it if folks would join me as well as follow my progress. Please do PM for more information. I will be posting up recipes, menus and giving a commentary on my progress. I am making myself accountable to you guys so putting it out there and hope you will support me xx

[12/23/18]   Sending you and your family holiday greetings

Who says you can't have fun with chocolate and be healthy. This bad boy was made in just 2 minutes in a cup...yes a cup in the microwave!!Arbonne vanilla protein, vanilla extract, cocoa, honey and eggs. All mixed in a cup popped in the microwave for 2 minutes...job done. Gluten free and scrumptious. A great mid week treat.

These georgeous looking slices are avocado brownies. You don't taste the avocado at all. It replaces the butter so a super guilt free and healthy dessert. FACT: half a cup of butter has 813 calories whereas a half a cup of massed avocado has 184 calories..winner I think. The avocado also adds more moisture to the brownies especially when coconut floor is used. What the recipe just PM me.

Had to try this recipe and love it...sweet potato and spinach quiche. I added a little twist of my own adding grated carrots and coriander. Absolutely lovely. The base is made with sweet potatoes roasted. The spinach onions and garlic with the coriander are cooked. Once the base is done..add the spinach and carrots. Whisk eggs I only used one as the pie dish is small add non diary milk pour the mixture over the spinach and grater chesse. I used cheese which was wheat gluten and and diary free.
Bake in the oven serve with a lovely tomatoe salad.
I will be making chocolate brownies with a difference tomorrow!watch this space x

Part of my Sunday..Lovely chocolate pancake made with my Arbonne protein powder, almond milk, and fruit puree made from frozen cherries sprinkled with flax seeds and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Thought I would try something different tuna and spinach with slices slices of yam and pumpkin and avocado and beetroot salad

Enjoyed roasted pumpkin with baked red bream fish and a slice of yam with beetroot. I roasted the pumpkin in avacado oil seasoned with garlic paprika and salt and baked the fish in homemade tomatoe sauce.

Attended a great 4n network business meeting and spoke about my Arbonne business

A quick scrumptious healthy dish of roasted butternut squash roasted carrots and red onions seasoned with a little salt, garlic and a drizzle of maple syrup baked in a little avocado oil. Served with tiger prawns cooked with spinach and broccoli and spring onions

My lovely friend Julie sent the recipe for making my favourite chocolate..Ferrero rochet. ...almond butter maple syrup Arbonne vanilla protein powder organic cacao and nuts. What's not to love?? Who said eating healthy is boring? Can't wait to have these for my desert....maybe not all at once!!!

I bought a new kitchen toy and in love with it. My waffle bowl maker makes a georgeous waffle shaped like a bowl. I used my Arbonne vanilla protein shake with baking powder an egg and hazelnut milk. Took 4 mins to make. Added my strawberries and indulged with a drizzle of maple syrup. Heavenly.

Normally I am not a fan of aubergines but I thought I woulf be a little creative making this dish. I did baked aubergines with a season spice I made in the blender. I used olive oil garlic coriander onions and paprika and chili flakes. Blended them so the spices would be really intense. Poured it over the sliced aubergines and baked them. Once cooked I places juice chili prawns on top and served with avocado spinach red onions and tomatoes. I drizzled a little olive oil over the salad. Super tasty

Here is some lovely cauliflower tortillas I made and stew chicken in a spicy tomatoe sauce with pumpkin and kidney beans.
