This is Sally Davis - Leap Mindfulness, my retreat guide partner in crime 😊

I’m told we create the perfect balance of calm (me) and vibrancy! (Sally)

We guided a retreat at Hazel Hill Wood last September and it was so magical. The setting, the fires, meditations, movements, self connection and awareness practices, the delicious food, the sense of community 💜

Would you like to welcome greater abundance to 2022? However that word resonates with you.

Join us in the woods in June 2022 to welcome the summer Solstice and all her abundance!

“Glow [Sept 2021] was the perfect opportunity to retreat from the world, back to myself. I felt safe, looked after, seen and heard all weekend. The Hazel Hill Wood was just perfect and the food delicious. I am already looking forward to the next one.”

“I have never been to a yoga class before, let alone a retreat. I came expecting to enjoy some peace, but I ended up connecting far more emotionally than I thought I would. Sally and Carolyn were the perfect balance of vibrancy and calm. Just what I needed.”

“What a wonderful experience! My first retreat and definitely not my last. I came on my own but felt welcome from the moment I arrived. Sally and Carolyn are brilliant hosts and excellent guides in their own unique ways. I loved the variety of activities throughout the retreat, from relaxing restorative sessions and power animal meditations to co-creating poetry and meditation around the fire in the woods. The venue was so unique being immersed in the woods. What a refreshing, enlightening and empowering weekend. Thank you.”
So that time has come….

After 18 months of no retreats, and having rescheduled 3 times, we’re finally doing it. (Bit excited. Bit nervous. Very grateful).

See you amongst the trees Leap Mindfulness

And we look forward to meeting all you wonderful 11 retreatees there too. ❤️
Phew. Holidays with kids aren't quite the rest they used to be pre-parental life are they?! Lots of fun all the same and my adventurous 8 year old definitely nurtures a more adventurous spirit in me! He was waaaaay better at surfing than me, paddleboarding in the rain in The Lakes bought out resilience in us all, and camping in Cornwall was a bonding experience for sure :) We are full of gratitude to the generosity of friends in Scotland and Cornwall who invited us to stay with them too.

Having taken the opportunity to unplug from tech, I've just got back online to discover my retreat colleague Sally Leap Mindfulness has uploaded a Children's meditation for my son who loves Jaguars. Thanks Sal!

Intuitive as ever, we could do with calling in strength and stillness into the household today. Could you?

Here's the link, let me know how you get on.

Intentional time away from daily life, without a to-do list, is a unique thing. It invites a deep sense of space.

Space in body and mind to allow us to process and lean into feelings within the present moment. Feelings that might offer up intentions to enable us to move forward with clarity and vision.

Sounds like something you could benefit from?

I am collaborating with Sally Davis from Leap Mindfulness to share GLOW, 2nd - 5th Sept 2021 - a long weekend retreat of nourishing self-connection including:

🌱Yoga - morning and evening, outside if possible
🌱Yoga Nidra
🌱Journeying meditations
🌱Mindfulness walks
🌱Intention setting
🌱Energy clearing
🔥 Fire circles with ritual and ceremony
🌱Chef prepared delicious meals and snacks

All within an charming eco retreat centre within 70 acres of private ancient woodland (all being well).

The venue in Wiltshire (2 hrs drive from Bristol/ London or Brighton) holds beautifully crafted large timber buildings, home comforts with rustic charm. Indoor and outdoor composting loos (please note if you are after high end luxury this is not for you), indoor practice space, simple clean twin or private rooms, acres of woods, cosy nooks and wood burning stoves

Following the success of April's Emerge workshop, Sally Leap Mindfulness and I are collaborating again online on Sat May 29th.

We are all always emerging just a little. Becoming, realising, noticing more of our true self that can get confused or dimmed under all the information, messaging, images and noise that we absorb in every day - and from the day we are born! The unique part of us inside, that lights us up and that connects us to everything and everyone can easily feel a little lost.

Not that we need to always be striving to be something or someone more. We do not. Non-attachment and acceptance of each moment is part of our yoga practice too.

But the more we take the time to pause, feel, reflect and notice, we will naturally begin to respond, and and off the ygoa mat, with a tiny but more awareness, sensitivity and intention each day, if we allow.

Join us to continue to Emerge, allowing it all to unfold, with your amazing uniqueness.

I've been thinking for a while about what Mindfulness Tips I could share with you over the festive season and this is basically what it boils down to. I gave up watching the news a few years ago but this week I was attending a wedding so I decided to keep my eye on it in case of any sudden changes. In just a few days I went from being very excited and jolly for Christmas to having a sense of heaviness and panic. It was pretty astounding how quickly the change was. I knew it was the negative information overload on my brain and luckily I knew what i had to do. So, I encourage you, just for the next week or so, to turn off the news, stop reading the online doom and gloom and embrace the festive season. Go outside, eat good food, connect with loved ones and rest. Remember, there is lots of GOOD STUFF going on in the world too. Sending you all happy, merry vibes, Sally xx

A brilliant 2 days at Beaminster School working with yr 7 & yr 8 students. Having missed lots of education time in the last 18 months these students deserve a massive shout out. They were motivated, upbeat & great fun to work with.

We looked at memory skills, meta-cognition and how creativity & imagination are great tools for learning and recall. My top tips for anyone out there learning, remember…

✅ Mistakes are made for helping you move forward.
✅ Ask for help, don’t struggle alone.
✅ Schedule learning time in short bursts.
✅ use images, colour & creativity when reviewing work.
✅Get good quality sleep, your brain needs this to shift and sort information.
✅get outside whenever you need a break.
✅ Make small, achievable goals and reward yourself when you reach them.

Straight Talking Mindfulness 😂 This isn’t the usual type of thing I post (so many sweaty words 😱) but I got to admit I smiled after I saw this on Facebook & so I had to share it.
Sometimes people just need hear it plain & simple. I think my favourite line is ‘you’re not incomplete’ 🙌 what’s your favourite?
PS credit to the author as I took this from. Brilliantly written.

To the weird, wild and wacky. To the witches, wizards & pixies galore, I salute you all. To the punks, the ravers , the heart centred soul savers. To the empaths, angels & heart focused folk, to all those who awoke. To those who believe in things they cannot see, magic, energy, the things that connect you to me. To every living being who resides here with us, shine brightly because you are enough ⭐️

This most definitely is not my finest look - filmed straight after a 5k jog, sweaty & out of breathe (keeping it real 😂) However I wanted to send a big out out to Louise Reynolds @reynolou who inspired me to put my jogging shoes on and do some exercise.

She came to me in July feeling unmotivated, out of shape & feeling at odds with her body. We chatted and came up with a plan and she’s gone on to change her mindset, alter her eating habits & most importantly embrace fitness for its mental health benefits. Her determination inspired me today & I felt amazing after.

Whatever you need to do to feel the force of your physical self, do it today..
💜Be still in Yoga
💜Lift heavy weights
💜Walk outside
💜Go crazy & dance
💜Hit the Gym
💜Do a Group Class

Do whatever it takes to connect with your body.
Go beyond your own self-limiting beliefs. Move past procrastination.
Your body deserves to be loved, nurtured, stretched, pushed and felt 💪
Special shout also to @daviniataylor for a brilliant book that’s also been inspiring to me lately ⭐️⭐️

I admit it. I am a tree nut. I love them. I hug them. I talk to them. I allow them to support me, to hold me. I can feel their roots, their energy. I hear them, I trust them, I listen to them. 🌳

When did we stop ignoring nature? When did we stop believing in its magic? When did we disregard it?

When was the last time you stood outside and really listened, looked & truly felt connected to the Earth? Our one and only true home.
Do it today. Pause. Breathe. Give Thanks 💜🌳

How is everyone’s sleep at the moment? Yesterday I went back on my You Tube and found the first audio I recorded. It’s a sleep meditation with a technique of squeezing the body before using a sky / cloud visualisation. Take a listen, let me know if it works for you.

Found this great article on Poverty Mindset and how to get it out of the way. You may not have thought about money or abundance in this way before, but your mindset is absolutely everything. From a child you will have been conditioned into thinking about money in a certain way. Does money flow to you or do you feel dis-counted from it? Is money a struggle? are you always working and never earning enough? Stop and think about your actual true feeling s about money and take a few tips from this list...

HOW TO OVERCOME A POVERTY MINDSET
March 2, 2020 The Money Engineer Behavior Change, Mindset

A Poverty mindset is a belief system that life is full of scarcity. It is the mindset that things are hard to get, that money is hard to earn, and that there isn’t enough out there for us. … Refusing to invest in ourselves because we don’t want to spend money is a form of poverty mindset. The cause of our money problems is usually a deeply embedded Poverty Mindset which we are usually not even aware of.

So how does one overcome a poverty mindset. Here is what I have gathered so far.

1. Be grateful. Gratitude forces you to see the good in yourself and in others. This increases you well being and creates a mindset of possibilities. Being grateful also neutralizes the victim mentality. This then has the effect of pushing someone to take action on the opportunities before them.

2. Become more generous. Generosity is a sign of faith that you are blessed and wealthy beyond measure. As you give so shall you receive. So give more of your money, time and energy.

3. Have some ambition in life. Poor people lack ambition and that is why they stay poor. Having goals and dreaming of better things to come puts one in a state of readiness to take action to improve themselves.

4. Be happy for other people’s success and wealth. Poor people are often jealous of other people’s success and wealth. Holding negative views about other people’s wealth plants seeds of self-doubt within your mind. If you covet your neighbor’s range rover be sure that you will never drive one.

5. Take some risks. Poor people don’t take any risks. They are happy with the way things are. Take some risks. Start a business. Save some money. Invest in an idea. Invest in meaningful relationships.

6. Spoil yourself within reason. Poor people have a scarcity mindset. They strive to save pennies and hardly spoil themselves. Buy yourself something nice once in a while. Eat at a nice restaurant. Travel. Buy a nice book.

7. Expand your mind and views about money. Read. Learn. Seek out new learning experiences to expand your mind about wealth and money. Learning will help to offset all prior inaccurate information about money.

8. Hang out with rich and successful people. You are the average of the five people you usually hang around. Birds of a feather flock together. Look around you. You are becoming what your friends are. Rich people hang out with fellow rich people.

9. Delay immediate gratification. Spending excessively is a form of poverty. Unconsciously you are scared of lacking material things and you end up in debt or broke. Basically you spend to run away from feeling broke and you end up broke. Learn to save and invest for the long run and guarantee your financial security.

10. Take responsibility for your financial situation. Finally take responsibility. Blaming other people and the world for your money problems won’t solve them. You have the power within you to create a lot of wealth.Y

How It All Began

Leap Mindfulness was started in January 2017. It came after I spent many years practicing meditation and noticing how it helped to keep me steady, calm, happy and motivated. I started instilling mindful practise into my every day life and also introducing it to my children. After training with Holistic Happiness and SMART Foundations and my journey with Leap began. I now coach to schools, individuals and corporates and run courses, retreats and drop-in classes.
