What we do!

We are setting up our Sigta stand again this week promoting technical and business apprenticeships. Wednesday at Uckfield Community College and Friday at Eastbourne Sports Park when various schools will be visiting throughout the day.

Apprenticeships are becoming far more attractive as they are for people of any age and are fully funded. There are no tuition fees and apprentices will not face a huge debt when they qualify.

The government is moving to lower the repayment threshold from its current rate of £27,000 to £25,000 as the point at which graduates must use 9% of their income to repay loans.

The plans will see most university leavers pay far more for their degrees over their lifetime than they do now. It effectively completes the transformation of student ‘loans’, for most, into a working-life-long graduate tax.

We have some fantastic apprentices on Sigta programmes and we want to feature at least one of our apprentices each day for National Apprenticeship Week. Where better to start than Jess who works for the NHS.

Congratulations to our Manufacturing apprentices Izaac Small and Owen Hawes for passing their EAL Level 3 Diploma in Machining with distinctions! They have been with Kurt J. Lesker Company for 3 years whilst pursuing their HNC’s in Mechanical Production of which they have a further 2 years to complete. They have contributed so much to the company throughout their time at KJLC and we are so excited to see them continue to succeed in their future careers with us!
