In 1981, at the age of 18, I sold my toy car collection for the princely sum of £1,000.00. This is a value of just under £6,000.00 today but, having kept a list of all the models I had sold, I estimate that at today's prices I would have to spend in the region of £15,000.00 to buy all those models again retail.
