My mission is to help motivated individuals to understand their unique blend of strengths, qualities and characteristics that no one else has, which they can use as a foundation to find and be in control of a purpose driven career in an ever changing world of work. This will serve as a platform for them to truly express who they are. Why do I do what I do? I never received any careers advice when I was at school and therefore made poor decisions. I have also been through my own career change at the age of 30 because I knew I didn't want to carry on doing what I was doing for any longer than I had to. So I understand where people are coming from when they are confused and I don't want to see anyone else go through the same thing. I work with 3 specific client groups. Firstly, I offer bespoke career coaching programmes for professionals who are seeking a career change or transition because they truly believe that there must be something better for them. The programme is a combination of online tasks and exercises along with face to face or video link sessions. Secondly I also offer a similarly structured bespoke programme for graduates who also feel disillusioned having left university and are not sure about the right career path for them. Thirdly, I conduct career guidance sessions with young people in schools and colleges to help them make well informed and exciting decisions as they start their career. I am happy to connect with schools both nationally and internationally. I use a combination of tools I've picked up in my training, firstly as a Careers Adviser and then as a Life Coach. I will often use the Morrisby Psychometric Assessment with individuals too. My approach is relaxed, holistic, non judgemental and empathetic - I never had careers advice at school and I have been through my own major career change at the age of 30. I am passionate about good quality career guidance and I don't want to see any individual make the same mistakes I did. Experience:
- Providing career coaching, advice and guidance with professionals in the UK and worldwide since 2001
- Psychometric assessments
- 1-1 and group career advice and guidance in schools
Achievements:

Highly Commended by RMA for 'Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships' 2018 (that's posh for second place!)

Ran a series of career related workshops in Serbia
Helped a school in Surrey to achieve Investors in Careers Award and 'Outstanding' for careers within 2 years. The school had no previous careers programme.or impartial advice. BBC video advice - see featured section

Traineeships are a course with work experience lasting between 6 weeks and up to 1 year that have traditionally been targeted at those 16-24 year olds (eligible to work in England) with a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification with the aim of getting them ready for a job or an apprenticeship. Participants are not paid but may receive expenses such as travel.
The government recently announced that those young people with a Level 3 qualification can now also participate in the scheme. For those completing 6th Form who are focused on finding an apprenticeship or job but who have little or no work experience, this initiative could offer the opportunity to build very relevant skills and experience.
Traineeships are organised locally through Training Providers; the list of providers is available here but please note this is in the process of being updated:-

Not only am I a qualified Careers Adviser and Life Coach but at the age of 30 I went through my own career change whilst my wife had just had our first child and we had recently bought a house.
It wasn't easy but I was determined to move from a job that didn't suit the real me towards something that I really love....being a Career Coach.
I know that if I can do it, you can too.
