Getting out of your comfort zone, never easy but when business owners do, that is where the magic happens. Recently I’ve been on some incredible coaching journeys where we’ve found our way to some exciting new ideas and opportunities. It’s amazing where you can go when you dare to be bold
We have so much wasted time in the business, it's like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing'
My client came to me feeling frustrated that his senior team didn't appear to know who was doing what and the more they tried to scale, the worse the problem got.
Action:
First I introduced them to a RACI, to define responsibility and accountability for each role, this empowered the team to get on with it and left no room for grey areas.
Next I introduced them to a far improved way of holding their meetings and catch ups which reduced their weekly meetings by 8 hours per week!The Outcome:
"Everyone feels empowered, they know what the expectations are and they can get on with it, without fear of stepping on toes.
We've also saved so much time with less meetings, the team now update me in a consistent way each week which allow us to get to the core problems quickly"
Scaling isn't easy and neither is stepping out of the detail. If you want to understand how to empower your team more, drop me a DM
I went from 50-hour weeks and being completely overwhelmed to 3-day weeks and working from Spain for a month, here's how.
18 months ago, I was working 40-50 hour weeks, I was catching up on weekends and I felt disorganized, overwhelmed, and frustrated. I now deliver more for my clients in fewer hours and have the work-life balance that I dreamt of. Here are the 4 simple actions that I took;
1. I got really clear on my priorities - I set out what I wanted to achieve in 2 years, in 1 year and what that meant for the next 3 months, setting clear quarterly objectives for me and my clients.
2. I broke those down into weekly and daily actions - I focused on only those at the start of each day because this is my most efficient time of the day.
3. I reviewed my processes - I evaluated each one and I automated many of them which saved me a substantial amount of time.
4. I got hyper-focused - I switched alerts off and scheduled all of my work into blocks to ensure focus and efficiency. Now I run my own day, no one else does.
The outcome, I am highly organized and I can scale. Working efficiently means that I can complete everything in my chosen working days, using the others to focus on strategy and personal growth.

The moment I helped solve a tricky problem for one of my clients…. I was on a dog walk through the South Downs, let me explain. I’m a big believer in balance and also taking time out, away from the screens to think and to strategise. This is often where I find my 💡 moments. Where do you find yours?
When your coach sends you a book, you get started right away. Food for the brain. 😃
