I would just like to thank everyone who donated and supported our Breast Cancer Pink event this weekend. We had a fantastic afternoon tea on Saturday, where 45 ladies thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Donations were made by both competitions over Saturday and Sunday. I am so grateful and overwhelmed with everyone who participated and generously donated to this great cause. Over this weekend we raised a fantastic £622.50 plus a pledge of £50.
I can’t say how overwhelmed and grateful to everyone so Thanks again for everything 💕💕💕

Dear Members & Guests
Thanks to your support and some good Spring weather, last week saw us take a positive step forward towards our goal of re-opening our indoor social areas in the middle of May or as soon as we are allowed.
It was brilliant to see so many enjoying their golf and a welcome pint or two afterwards in the sunshine. Long may it continue.
We did, as promised, open the bar from midday until at least 6.00pm every day last week and for longer at the weekend. I know that some members were disappointed if not frustrated that we were not open for longer but equally many understood our cautious approach given the restrictions that we faced. It was really important that we tested our Covid secure processes and systems and gave our staff time to adjust to the outdoor service we are providing having been furloughed for five long months. I’m sure that many join me in thanking Gemma and her team on a job well done.
Starting this week we will operate as near normal bar opening times, allowing flexibility caused by any adverse weather, as necessary. So our scheduled bar opening times are as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 12.00 – 20.00.
Wednesday and Friday 12.00 – 21.00.
Saturday 11.00 – 21.00.
Food and snacks will be available as follows:
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 12.00 – 17.00.
The following facilities remain available:
Outdoor social areas.
Food and drink will be served outside (subject to the rule of six).
The professional shop.
The locker rooms and changing facilities with access only via the door by the Pro shop.
NHS QR Code is displayed so that everyone can “check in”. Everyone not using the App must provide their contact details.
Social distancing will still apply and face coverings will be required indoors.
Best wishes.

Dear Members & Guests

I’m sure that all of you will be aware that funeral of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh will take place tomorrow (Saturday 17th April). The Government have announced that as a mark of respect, there will be a national one minute silence to be observed at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon.

I feel it is entirely appropriate that as a club we honour this and ask that all members and guests that are on the property at this time take the opportunity to pay their respects.

The start of the minute silence will be initiated by the sounding of the horn at 15:00, another blast enabling us to carry on will be given after 60 seconds. Many thanks in advance for your understanding and support with this.

Best Regards

Dave Paterson (Club Captain)

Dear Members & Guests
The UK Government updated their stance on the national lockdown on 22nd February to include the “roadmap to return”. This roadmap out of lockdown as we know included the re-opening of golf courses in England from 29th March 2021. We remain committed to following the relaxation in restrictions as soon as the Guidelines permit. Protocols will be in place for your safety to comply with the Covid-19 Guidelines & Regulations.

From Monday 12th April 2021 the following relaxations apply and I’m delighted to confirm that these will be introduced fully here at Crow Nest Park.
Outdoor social areas will re-open.
The professional shop will re-open.
The locker rooms and changing facilities will re-open.

NHS QR Code will be displayed so that everyone can “check in”. Everyone not using the App must provide their contact details.
Social distancing will still apply and face coverings will be required indoors.
We will of course be subject to the vagaries of the weather so flexibility in terms of opening times will be necessary and your patience and understanding will as ever be required.
However this is a vital step even though it’s a way off being normal but it will be great to see everyone back on our terraces and patios enjoying their favorite tipple or two. A really important milestone for our Club as we move towards re-opening our indoor social areas in mid-May if all goes to plan.

Initially drinks only will be available with food and snacks being re-introduced as soon as possible. A table service only will operate and details of the drinks available will be displayed on each table. The choice of drinks available will be extended over time as demand dictates. Drinks will be dispensed from the Members’ Lounge Bar which will be for use by staff only.
The locker rooms and toilets will be accessible only through the entrance by the Pro shop.
The bar will be open from Monday at 12.00 noon until 18.00 and everyday subject to the flexibility mentioned earlier. Opening hours will be kept under constant review and extended over time based on demand.
We hope that you will partake of outdoor refreshments here at the Nest from Monday onwards.

Stay safe.

Members & Guests

It’s been almost a week since our return to golf and fingers crossed, most of you have managed to get out onto the course and have blown away those lockdown cobwebs.

Our initial aim in restricting you to 9 hole bookings was to enable all of our members the opportunity to get out onto the course, this objective has been met and now is the time to move a step closer to normality. I know all of you would have preferred to play 18 holes from day one so please let me take this opportunity to thank you so much for your understanding & support.

With effect from Tuesday 6th April, our members will be able to play 18 holes. Non-members will be allowed to play but they will need to be accompanied by a member.

The club will be fully open to pay & play, societies etc with effect from Monday 12th April. Bookings can be made via the club shop one week in advance.

Best Regards

[03/15/21]   Members & Guests

March 29th sees the next stage of the Government’s roadmap to the easing of lockdown restrictions and is the day when all outdoor sports facilities will be allowed to reopen. We at Crow Nest Park are delighted to announce that in conjunction with England Golf’s Play Safe Stay Safe guidelines, all of our outdoor facilities will reopen on this date.

In order to cope with the expected high demand, bookings for tee times will initially be exclusive to our membership and will be restricted to 9 holes only. This policy will be reviewed continuously throughout the early days and we hope to return to 18 holes as well as welcoming pay & play guests as soon as we’re able to do so.

Paul Everitt will be taking telephone bookings for Monday 29th on 27/28 March between 0900-1100. Bookings for after the 29th March can be made by calling the club shop during normal office hours.

We look forward to seeing more of you as the weeks progress and restrictions are further lifted.

Best Regards

Dave Paterson (Vice Captain)

Crow Nest Park Golf Club

[01/05/21]   Dear Members & Friends,
Following the Government’s announcement of a third national lockdown and it’s very clear instruction of ‘Stay at Home’, golf courses, like other sports venues in England, have closed with immediate effect.
All of our facilities at Crow Nest Park, both indoor and outdoor, including the golf course, driving range, putting green, clubhouse and Pro Shop are therefore closed until further notice. It is possible that Paul Everitt may be allowed to offer a click and collect service but that situation will be clarified once the guidance becomes clear.
England Golf is extremely disappointed with this news and, along with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Golf, will continue to make the case for golf courses to reopen whenever possible.
I’m sure that like me you all understand the need to do more together to bring this new Covid variant under control while our vaccines are rolled out. However I recognise only too well that does not make this difficult situation any easier as I know how hard lockdown with no golf will be for all of you.
I will follow developments closely to ensure that we reopen just as soon as we can. In the meantime, stay safe.
Best wishes.
