This is a wonderful analogy for how acupuncture works from the wonderful Trish Ohara The Acupuncturist who has been working with me at The Wellness Hub for a few years now.

Breathe....
Today I am called to post about breathing, no idea why as I'm no expert other than I've been doing it for 56 years. However, I now understand more about how it grounds us, calms us and can be a really useful tool which we too often ignore.

I teach all my clients Box Breathing due to its usefulness when we need to be calm and grounded plus it really helps me get back to sleep if I wake at night:-) bonus eh!!

Here it is, try it out its really simple but really effective

Breath deeply through your nose for a count of 4
Hold that breath for a count of 4
Exhale via your mouth for a count of 4
Do nothing with your breath for a count of 4
Repeat this process 4 times.

Just notice how your shoulders drop when you exhale and how your body starts to feel more relaxed.

Be aware of how being in different peoples company makes you feel. Some people will fill your very soul with delight and others will leave you feeling trampled and drained.

This happens because we all omit and receive vibrations. When people are struggling they can omit a lower vibration than when they are in a good feeling place. So we are all wondering around transmitting and receiving vibrations.

Don't think of it as good and bad its not like that, just be aware of your feelings and how others affect them. And remember that you are affecting others vibrations too :-)

As the weather begins to change and we move towards Autumn many people can feel their moods start to plummet. Good News is that there is a 100% natural way to reduce the risk of a major mood decline by over 23% and we can all do it. Plus its also 100% FREE!!!
Researchers in the USA have just concluded a massive study on over 840,000 people. What they have proven is that shifting your sleep cycle can be tremendously beneficial for your health and specifically your mood. So the recommendation is to rise an hour earlier. Now we don't mean for your to miss out on sleep what we are suggesting is that you go to bed earlier so that the midpoint of your sleep cycle is actually an hour earlier. Thats the key when it comes to lowering your risk of depression coming into Winter.

So although its only August I reckon we should start to move slowly towards this now by going to bed 15 minutes earlier every week and by the time we are in September we will be used to hitting the hay and getting up an hour earlier.

So starting next week hows about we all head to bed 15 minutes earlier and get up 15 minutes earlier and keep track of how this affects our mood as we move into the winter months.

Sometimes it’s very easy to believe you are broken and that things are always going to be tough. It’s not true, once you start making different choices and break old patterns you can begin to experience change.

To experience new feelings you need to make different choices, we cannot keep doing the same things and expect different outcomes.

When you can see the patterns that need to be changed and listen to how you speak to yourself and acknowledge how that makes you feel, then we can start to break those patterns, change that inner dialogue and feel calmer, more confident and more relaxed
