Throughout this week, we have continued our work supporting naíscoileanna, early years settings, children, and families across the North, while proudly supporting the Stronger From the Start campaign and participating in Belfast Learning Week.
Against the backdrop of recent events in communities across Belfast and beyond, these activities have served as a powerful reminder of the importance of ensuring that every child feels safe, supported, and able to thrive.

No child should be denied access to education, early years provision, or the services that are so vital to their development and wellbeing. Children should never be exposed to fear, trauma, division, or hatred. Their early years should be characterised by safety, belonging, positive relationships, and opportunities to thrive.

As professionals working with young children and families, we recognise the importance of nurturing environments, strong communities, and equitable access to support. We stand with all children, families, practitioners, and communities affected and remain committed to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, respect, and hope for every child.

The images below were taken at our event in the Duncairn on Tuesday morning. It was a truly beautiful and uplifting event, held quite literally on the doorstep of the traumatic incident that occurred the previous evening, which was subsequently exploited to inflame tensions and cause violence, division, criminality and unrest that has affected so many individuals, families, and communities this week.

The stark contrast serves as a powerful reminder that our children deserve to grow up in environments where they feel safe, valued, respected, and hopeful.

I gcomhthéacs na n-imeachtaí a tharla ar na mallaibh i bpobail ar fud Bhéal Feirste agus níos faide, chuir na gníomhaíochtaí seo i gcuimhne dúinn arís cé chomh tábhachtach is atá sé a chinntiú go mothaíonn gach páiste sábháilte, tacaithe agus ábalta bláthú.

Níor chóir go mbeadh páiste ar bith faoi mhíbhuntáiste ó thaobh rochtain ar oideachas, ar sholáthar luathbhlianta ná ar na seirbhísí atá chomh thábhachtach dá bhforbairt agus dá bhfolláine.

Níor chóir go mbeadh páistí ar bith fágtha gan chosaint ar eagla, ar thráma ná ar fhuath. Ba chóir go mbeadh a luathbhlianta bunaithe ar shábháilteacht, ar chaidrimh dhearfacha agus ar dheiseanna le fás agus le forbairt.

Mar ghairmithe atá ag obair le páistí óga agus le teaghlaigh, aithníonn muid an tábhacht a bhaineann le timpeallachtaí oiliúnacha, pobail láidir agus rochtain chothrom ar thacaíocht.
