“Today’s youth is different than ever before. They design the future, they fuel my energy.”
Growing up on the country side Robin Joris Dullers has always been surrounded by nature and its beauty. Exploring different meanings of that beauty during his career made him realize that it’s more the initial stage before recognizing beauty that fascinates him, attraction. His roots and mental state brought him back to focussing on youth. Becoming an adult and losing that precious moment of ‘real freedom’ makes him even more attached to this subject in his oeuvre, then ever before. It’s Robin’s little crisis of losing youth and his own beauty which made him capture other’s beauty. And he found this beauty in his own attraction on these new generations that are starting to live more fluidly, pushing and crossing society’s boundaries. Specifically on a sexual level, there is something changing in today’s youth Robin sees, or it does in his surroundings, there isn’t any more a beauty/persona focus but a focus on attraction. In a way, deeper level. The way he meets these people is different ; the digital age, and that’s the point where this story starts. He only captured boys that he met for the first time. The mix of meeting someone for the first time, based on beauty/attraction, which sometimes creates a 1 sided space or a moment of connection from Robin side or instead creates something totally new unexpected emotional between two individuals. It’s that moment which Robin is looking for where a person is opening up, capturing a moment of fragile beauty, which is also a turning point for these people, dreaming about their future, thinking about now and what will come.

I felt in love with the last one at gallery in Milano. (bought it oeps). My background and surroundings never were part of any design / art lovers expect my dad being a carpenter. I love collecting the beautiful things that grab my attention, also when it gots a price. Just feeling my guts .. still need a lot to learn tho

When I saw popping on my screen I thought, HELLYEAH. I think I made the same noise when her right cheekbone was popping out. Anyway I love to shoot artists.. don’t ask me why. They have a kinda power energy around them which makes me drawn to such personalities.
