Veganism has nothing to do with health. Veganism has nothing to do with training or fitness. Veganism is a philosophy that opposes the exploitation and abuse of non-human animals. Veganism is an anti-speciesist position. You can look and eat however you like as a vegan, as long as you’re happy, and you’re not harming anyone else in the process.
Now that I have that out the way, I’ve been lifting weights on and off for most of my adult life. I’ve been going hard once again and have been focusing on protein rich plant foods. I’m hitting a minimum of 140grams protein a day and I thought I’d give you a list of the amount of protein per 100grams for each of the following:
Legumes: 8-10gms
Tofu: 15 gms
Tempeh: 20 gms
Seitan: 20 gms
Vegan meats: 10-30gms
Vegan protein powder: 60 gms
Ok, so now we have this protein nonsense sorted. Can we please stop abusing and brutally murdering trillions of non-human animals to sustain ourselves?
