Le Souffle du Nomade
Nomad’s Breath
10 November - 6 December 2025. Farid Rasulov, Almagul Menlibayeva, Maaya Wakasugi, Mamali Shafahi, Roberta Marroquin, Jon McCormack, Heather Mattera, Lynda Draper, Fansack, Steve McCurry, Juliette Somnolet
curated by Lexing Zhang and Amber Terranova
In an age shaped as much by excess as by absence, Nomad’s Breath gathers twelve artists whose works move like a traveler’s exhale: light, resonant, connective. This exhibition frames nomadism not as rootlessness, but as a way of breathing with the world: exchanging presence, story and shelter rather than possessions. Generosity is unmeasured; it lives in the smallest gestures. A glance across distance, a note of song, the hush of shared silence. The nomad breathes in rhythm with the landscapes they cross, offering whatever they hold — salt, song, solace — to those they meet.

AI Generated Image

The “Endless Feed” collage varies in the amount of AI images and therefore in the overall size, it can be created to match any given space requirements.
“Endless Feed” is a collection of AI created images that explores the future of suggestion algorithms and personalised social network feeds. As part of a larger research about how suggestion algorithms function and what their implications are, the artist over a four month period had observed his Instagram suggested post section, downloading a portion of the suggested images. With over 1000 of the images
collected, the artist used them as a training set for an AI algorithm. After training for a
couple of days, the AI algorithm was able to create an infinite number of new images
that were based on the ones provided in the training set.
These new images then formed the basis for an “Endless Feed”, which can be seen
as a reference to the ‘infinite scroll’ - a technique used in social media apps, where
the user can scroll the feed forever, without running out of new posts. Having seen
the aesthetic quality of these AI created images, one can’t help but wonder if image
feeds with similar AI generated content, could indeed soon replace the human
generated images. As surely such image feeds could be even more engaging for the
dopamine addicted scrollers that we have become. Combining the user profiling
capabilities of the suggestion algorithms with the possibilities of generating new
images, it is not hard to imagine a near future where our social media feeds are
flooded with the synthetically generated targeted images that match perfectly with
what we want to see.

At GESTE Paris, we explore the potentials and perils of transformative media. We interrogate how these new realities are shaping the future of creativity and look to the works of Vilém Flusser as a guide in exploring these questions. We aim to create a forum for discussing the pervasive effects of AI and other transformative media on the creative process, as well as the implications for the future of art. The 2021 edition of GESTE Paris, Future Conditional, curated by Shiva Lynn Burgos and Georg Bak defines the theme according to its relationship to Art, Language and Philosophy.
A collective artistic reaction to what lies ahead is both cathartic and prophetic in its reflection. “The fulfilment of the only future we can imagine, whether utopian or apocalyptic, is, on some deep level, satisfying." For more information follow the link in bio.
