Chrysaora hysoscella, the compass jellyfish, is a common species that inhabits coastal waters in temperate regions of the northeastern Atlantic Ocean, including the North Sea and Mediterranean Sea.

Thriving jellyfish populations have been found to take over as top predators in areas that fin fish have been over-exploited. Increased abundance of jellyfish negatively impacts fish populations in the same region because jellyfish feed on fish eggs and larvae. Jellyfish and larval fish can also share common dietary preferences. Competition for food resources can result in depleted fish populations. [source : Wikipedia]

"Blending gases is my thing" says Gérard, aka Gégé [pronounce 'Jayjay']. Behind the funny face he makes on this pic hides an highly experimented scuba diver and hyperbaric technician. "Gases" refers to the content of the tanks he is in charge of preparing and mixing for divers who need to breathe in specific conditions (extended time, greater depths, etc).

Every dive requires a briefing. Even more if it is a night dive. Here, instructor is explaining & reminding important signals using a torch, instead of hands as usual, in order to communicate with other dive buddies underwater. All this under the attentive look of , , .tech and other divers including myself :)
