In celebration of two years of Algorave India we are presenting the country’s first ever remote VR event. Our journey started with Fat Finger Mayhem, a unique performance event that brought together artists, programmers, musicians and technologists at Max Mueller Bhavan Mumbai as part of ZKM’s Open Codes exhibition in 2018. That first has taken us through major cities across the country with ground breaking artists that make everything from algorithmic pop to digital tribalism to drum and bass and hard noise.
This first in a series of events presents a new direction for events in India in these locked down social distanced times.
We welcome you to the Mare Moscoviense: a lunar mare that sits on the far side of the Moon.
The great depth of this mare beneath the nearby highlands probably explains why mare units are so rare on the lunar farside. This becomes India’s first VR Concert Space put forth by .codes

At 19.015187, 81.887099 in Tokapal, a tiny village in the Bastar district near Jagdalpur, Chattisgarh; various tribes gather every week and transform an empty field into a weekly market.
One of their favourite pastime activities is "Murgabazi" also known as cockfight - an activity which is somehow only enjoyed by the men. The cockfight happens in a makeshift ring where tribes and locals are betting among themselves. Moving away from this corner you can spot the Dongria kondh tribe which specialises in gathering and farming the famous Fiery red ants which are consumed as chutney - a kind of sauce native to the Indian subcontinent. On the other corner of the market women are selling Muawa flower liquor - a tribal version of Muawa flower based schnapps - and in between these two extreme corners you would see items like vegetables or hand forged metal and many other handicraft products. These weekly markets are one of the only ways for these tribes to get access to various things of need, to trade and to barter.

Ka: Adventures

Some of the regular working folks like us bring an instrument and some sweets every day to office in their bag. While commuting in morning and evening after work. They take this instrument out and jam with other folk inside a train everyday. This jam is called Kirtan which is essentially a call-and-response style song or chant, set to music, wherein multiple singers recite or describe a legend, or express loving devotion to a deity, or discuss spiritual ideas. Once this completes they distribute the sweets to all the co passengers as blessings. This is an everyday ritual. They do this everyday while travelling to office and back home. This is some sort of tradition now or culture
