So the other day some of our students came along for a pleasure dive and they were fortunate enough to try out SUEX - The Submarine Exploration Company scooters and the smiles were so wide that they almost had problems keeping in their regulators ;)
Equipment from Reel Diving and Fourth Element really do come to their rights in these elements :D

After what was regarded a bad year in terms of the resent pandemic of Covid-19 it seems that the people of the Faroe Islands have found a new hobby 👌🤙🤿
We just received this from and although it says 50 the actual number is 64 certifications in 2021 👌🤙

Exploring the wreck of Kallsevni, TN-340.

Earlier this year in the start of August I was asked by a friend Jan Hammer Egholm if we should take advantage of the best current and tides of the year to visit a wreck located about a nautical mile of the coast 🛥⚓
The wreck had been located by Jan some years earlier as a result of his and Heri Andreassen quest to find the wreckage of Tjaldur, the Faroe Islands flagship in the 1940's, but ran ashore in 1946 and was never seen again.
At first glance and a bit hopeful they thought that they had located the wreck of Tjaldur. But with the best equipment available on the marked to map and scan the ocean floor Jan the captain of Vikmar boat Explorer was dubious because this wreck seemed to be somewhat shorter.
To be absolute sure they sent an experienced diver, Ragnar vid Streym, down to investigate if it was the wreck of Tjaldur or the wreck of another ship.
It turned out to be the wreck of Kalsevni that capsized in 1970 (I think) and was lost to the deep.
Fast forward to early August 2021 when I was asked by Jan, I jumped at the opportunity. I was fortunate enough to have a former student of mine Bjørn Friður Mikladal who was visiting in the Islands at the time to be my buddy.
We started planning right away and wanted to make sure to document as much as possible of this dive.
We soon found out that we needed a few helping hands to make this as smooth and safe as possible. To aid Jan on the boat Explorer our very good friend and boat captain Niklas R. Jacobsen joined and as the divers extra hand we had Bergur, Bjørn's brother to be there to hand us our stage cylinders andbe ready to help us on the surface if needed.
Conditions were excellent, visibility sublime, a slight current and just an epic diving experience to a max depth of 54 m.

But to see these empty sea urchin shells are soo beautiful and when you shine a light through them they light up even more beautiful 😍💦💙

On Monday night I was working as a safety diver/personal on a video shoot in Tórshavn swimming pool and the video videographer was and in between takes he managed to capture this moment 😁😁 spirits were very high 😁😁😁
