A poor amber-stripe scad (Decapterus muroadsi ) jumped into the boat when we were coming back from diving. This fish, locally called as pathuuy, sometimes forms a big school in a bay.

Fruits of one of the species of garlic pears (Crateva speciosa), locally called as qabiich or qabyuch, are edible and high in vitamins. They are boiled for a long time, skinned and served with flaked coconut meat or coconut milk. Some people like to eat ripe ones raw.

Early morning of Waneedaey Entrance sometimes gives big surprise. This time was a Hammerhead shark! Seen it far but was big.

Dive site Vertigo is known to observe many sharks but at the same time good spot to search for nudibranchs. Photos are Chromodoris elisabethina, Phyllidia carlsonhoffi and Phyllidiopsis krempfi.

Lump of large object crossed the edge of the eye at the dive site Vertigo. Three green sea turtles, mating! First came down on to the shallow reef then went off deep blue.

A huge tiger shark appeared to us at Yap Caverns, 75 feet depth. It was accompanied by many gray reef sharks.

At the shallow cleaning station in Goofnuw Channel.

Encountered a manta which was repeatedly somersaulting in mid water. Looked like preying on plankton, although it was not certain.

While diving in M'iil Channel, the weather got unstable and when we came up from the 2nd dive, observed the occurrence of a waterspout. It was lucky that we hadn't gone to Vertigo where the waterspout seemed to be!

In spite of the damage by coral bleaching and crown of thorns, there to be seen that small corals are growing.

Saw a group of Short-finned pilot whales near the southern tip of Yap's reef. They were quite shy and hardly showed their full body.

Photos from Nature's Way's post 20/04/2018

Nowadays hardly miss hawks-bill turtles at "Slow & Easy" dive site. Sometimes, we see more than four individuals during one dive!

high. The water is relatively calm for enjoying reef

dives!

Photos from Nature's Way's post 09/10/2017

Had several happy dives right before the last full moon. Scenes of bleached corals & anemones are becoming common.

Photos from Nature's Way's post 25/09/2017

Good tide timing during the morning, many fish in clear water. However, some corals and sea anemones are found bleached; probably due to higher water temperature, currently over 29C/85F.
