Today is "World Day against Trafficking in Person". Please come support and join us for a "Fun Walk" tomorrow at 8am at the hospital site for T-shirt distribution and registration. Let's raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights.
The Fun Walk would be from the hospital to "around the lagoon" and back to hospital. This event is open to the general public. Kamagar and thank you for the continued support.

Happy International Women's Day 2021! Our global theme this year is #: Achieving an Equal Future in a COVID-19 World!
GSO in collaboration with Yap Women's Association and The Nature Conservancy will be hosting a small gathering for the women of Yap at The Living History Museum on Sunday March 7th, 2021 from 5pm-9am. This short event is a pre-opening/recognition of the women of Yap who has contributed to government, communities,and the many different roles in all spheres.
After this event, it will be followed by a 2-day workshop on March 8th & March 9th 2021 at Small Business Center that will be facilitated by Berna Gorong from The Nature Conservancy. The workshop will be on Leadership/Soil Health/Regnerative Agriculture as continuation from last year's Learning Exchange workshop for all the women's group of Yap.
Please come and support and be part of this event and celebrate our women's achievements, those who have passed and those who inspire us every day. Kamagar gad!

The United Nations (UN) International Day for Ending Violence Against Women has been an on-going campaign around the world and is observed on November 25th since 2000. This is the 20th year for observing this very important day. As we progress to the next year, let's not forget this important day and how we can advocate, recognize, and observe this day through awareness and practice.

On October 13th (International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction) & 14th 2020, The Nature Conservancy Program Micronesia partnered with Gender Support Office in collaboration with Yap Disaster Office and held a 2-day workshop consisting of 27 proactive women in a Learning Exchange Workshop at Small Business Conference Room on:

It was such a productive and a successful workshop where the group of women exchanged knowledge and learned from each other and how to better conserve, adapt and protect our environment. In addition to this, understanding our gender roles within our communities.

Today is another in support to all victims of violence, gender-based violence, sexual assault, etc. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Yap State Government offices: Yap State Governor's Office, Department of Resources & Development, Department of Office of Planning and Budget, Department of Youth & Civic Affairs, Yap State Court, Yap State Public Library, Yap State Division of Public Safety and its officers. We are in support of this awareness campaign and encouraging everybody that every Thursday to wear Black in solidarity with all victims of violence. Thank you for donating T-shirts!

I would like to take this time to thank everyone especially our Health Services Team and COVID-19 Task Force for all efforts and the hard work they're putting in fighting COVID-19 virus.
In support to this crisis, our office would like to show our support to our PUI's at the hospital. It is not easy for them being isolated and we would like to give them our support and to remind them that we are all in this together. I'm humbly asking any women's groups/NGO's if they would like to contribute anything to please call our office at 350-5973. We are planning to give donated items to designated nurse at the hospital this Friday April 24, 2020 around 12pm.

Sunday March 8 was International WOMENS Day. A day to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women and the progress being made towards gender equality.
The Gender Support Office, together with Yap Women's Association hosted a Women’s Gathering at Pine on Sunday. The program included key remarks from some of our respected inspirational women, some presentations on topics of interest to women, a workshop activity and some awards and recognitions. We also premiered the Micronesian Productions video highlighting inspirational women in the FSM.
