The Prophecy and One & Only Fiji Resort

In 1985, Reverend Sakeasi Salababa prophesied to the people of Malakati Village, Nacula Island, Yasawa, that after 40 years, a bright light would shine from Balawi Beach that the world would see.

‘E na oti e 40 na yabaki ena cadra e dua na rarama e Mata Sawa e Balawi ena sarava mai o Vuravura.’

This followed his climb up one of the mountains behind Malakati Village. From the summit, he looked across the island and saw an unusual bright light shining over Balawi Beach.

A memorial pedestal stone commemorating this prophecy stands today in front of the church in Malakati Village.

Today, Kerzner International’s ultra-luxury brand, One&Only Resorts, released for the world to see the first renders of One&Only Fiji Resort and private estate, that will be located at Balawi Beach.

In my 20+ years in major construction across Fiji and Australia, this is one of the most destined and fulfilling projects I've had the privilege to be part of, truly blessed.
