Computing power is increasingly becoming one of the defining resources of the AI era.

This Friday, our CEO & Co-Founder, Timo Valtonen, will be speaking at the Butterfly Ventures LP Meetup during Arctic15 - 15th Anniversary Edition in Helsinki.

The event brings together investors, founders, and technology companies to explore semiconductor innovation, computing efficiency, AI infrastructure, and next-generation chip technologies.

As part of the program, Timo will present:
A Quantum-Level Leap in Existing Technologies

We look forward to joining the discussion on the future of computing alongside fellow innovators from across the semiconductor ecosystem.

Compute demand is accelerating.

As AI, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale workloads continue to scale, overall system performance increasingly depends on how efficiently parallel workloads are executed.

In this interview with Beyond Innovation TV, our CEO & Co-Founder, Timo Valtonen, discusses:
- Why CPU performance bottlenecks matter
- Why efficient parallel ex*****on is becoming increasingly important
- What this could mean for the next generation of compute infrastructure

Swipe for key highlights from the conversation.

What do you wish you knew as a junior engineer?

Recently, our Head of CPU Development, Marcello Ranone, returned to his home university, di Torino, to speak with computer architecture students about his journey from engineering student to working on cutting-edge CPU architectures in the semiconductor industry.

The discussion covered:
-Collaboration across international teams
-Professional growth
-The transition to technical leadership
-Career insights, mindset shifts, & practical advice for young engineers

A big thank you to Annachiara Ruospo and Politecnico di Torino for the invitation, and to Francesco Politino for the photos.

Curious about the kind of compute Marcello works on today?

Winner of the High-Performance Computing track at DTM100.
Top 7 out of 5,000+ startups.

Our CEO & Co-Founder, Timo Valtonen, represented Flow at Deep Tech Momentum in the DTM100 pitch competition.

We advanced to the finals and were recognized as the High-Performance Computing track winner.

Across sectors, these challenges surfaced repeatedly:
- Compute infrastructure
- CPU bottlenecks
- Parallel performance

Compute demands are growing. Efficient performance is critical.
Flow PPU solves this challenge.

Thank you to the Deep Tech Momentum team, judges, investors, founders, and everyone we met in Berlin.

Something new from Flow.

Over the past few months, we’ve been validating new performance results for Flow PPU across parallel benchmarks and legacy code workloads.

More soon.

Modern processor architectures often struggle with scalability, synchronization overhead, and inefficient resource utilization as parallel workloads become more demanding.

Our architecture is designed differently.

Flow PPU uses a scalable multi-fibered multicore architecture designed to:

-Adjust parallelism according to the needs of the algorithm

-Improve memory access scalability and bandwidth utilization

-Minimize synchronization costs

-Split common and data-parallel ex*****on into architectural entities optimized for their designated use

In Flow’s hybrid architecture, the CPU handles sequential ex*****on and control flow, while Flow PPU handles ex*****on of individual fibers independently of their number.

Earlier this month, team Flow gathered in Cossombrato, Italy for a focused face-to-face week filled with technical collaboration, planning sessions, long discussions, and plenty of espresso along the way.

As a fast-growing deep-tech team, these in-person weeks are an important opportunity to align on priorities, exchange ideas, solve problems together, and build momentum for the months ahead.

Alongside the work sessions, the team also explored Alba and Asti, shared meals together, and enjoyed conversations that are hard to replicate over video calls.

The future of computing is built through collaboration ..and sometimes over pasta in Piedmont.
