Starting the year ✈️🇮🇪✈️🏴✈️🇩🇪✈️
Back at work after a few well-earned days off over the Christmas break, and what a way to kick off the year by seeing one of the last chanter reeds I shipped out settling beautifully into its new home.
This particular reed was made for a D-chanter by Hendrick Morgenbrodt for the brilliant piper Mick Martin from Co. Wexford — a truly versatile traditional musician who plays uilleann pipes, guitar, whistles and more
Couldn’t ask for a better start to 2026!

Summer’s wrapped up and it’s time to get back at it after a short break.
This week the backlog of orders has started to move and I’m slowly catching up on emails.

There's always a bit of nerves and self-doubt when a pipemaker tries out one of your reeds in their chanter. After all, no one knows how their instrument is supposed to sound better than they do. Ending July and pending orders!

This summer has been quite different from previous ones — with all the rain and cooler temperatures, I’m still able to keep the gouge going!
Recently, this beauty of a chanter arrived at the workshop: crafted by Hendrick Morgenbrodt in blackwood with boxwood mounts, pitched in D, and with a tone and tuning that truly make it a masterpiece. Lucky for me, it’s also very reed-friendly — at least when it comes to my standard reed model!
I’ve attached a quick sound sample using one of the reeds I made. (As always, the audio quality is just from my phone, so not all the nuances come through — but on the plus side, it's a raw take, no filters or editing.)

After getting hacked last December, Facebook finally fixed the issue and restored my original accounts — so I’m back in control! 💪
To keep things simple, you can find me on my original account again, but I’ll keep both active for a while until everything settles down.

Después del hackeo sufrido el Diciembre pasado, Facebook finalmente solucionó el problema y restableció mis cuentas originales volviendo a tener acceso a ellas por lo que vuelvo a tener el control de las mismas.
Para que todo sea sencillo podréis localizarme en mi cuenta original, no obstante mantendré ambas durante un tiempo hasta que todo vuelva a la normalidad.
Gracias por la comprensión y espero que estéis disfrutando del verano.
