💬 How can fake leads look like a successful marketing campaign?
Fake leads remain one of the biggest hidden challenges in performance marketing. Attractive CPL metrics don't always translate into real business results - sometimes they simply mean your sales team is spending time on contacts that were never likely to convert.
This topic was explored in an article by ADPASS, where Dmitry Isakov, CEO FraudScore - Independent Fraud Detection & Prevention, and other market players shared expert insights on how deceptive lead generation schemes work and why advertisers should look beyond surface-level KPIs.
In the article, industry experts discuss:
▪️ how fake lead generation schemes operate;
▪️ why businesses continue to buy low-quality leads;
▪️ the real cost of fraudulent lead generation;
▪️ and how advertisers can better protect their marketing budgets.

Scaling mobile acquisition does not always lead to obvious fraud.
More often, performance gradually erodes through a mix of gray traffic, low-quality inventory, and attribution signals that look efficient at the top of the funnel but fail to translate into revenue or LTV.
That is why anti-fraud should not be treated as a post-incident tool. It is part of maintaining control as budgets, channels, and traffic volumes grow.
FraudScore - Independent Fraud Detection & Prevention contributed expert perspectives to ROCKAPP’s new industry overview, "Mobile Acquisition Under Pressure: What Changes as Budgets Grow".
The report explores:
▪️ why CPI and CPA rise at scale
▪️ where audience saturation begins
▪️ how traffic-quality risks become visible
▪️ why attribution becomes harder to trust
▪️ how teams can scale with more control

⚡️CTV advertising was once considered a fraud-safe channel. Not anymore.
As budgets move from linear TV to streaming platforms, fraudsters are adapting classic schemes to CTV: fake impressions, app spoofing, manipulated geo data, and low-quality inventory disguised as premium placements.
Many campaigns still treat CTV as “clean by default” - and lose budget without noticing.
Across FraudScore-analyzed CTV conversions, 3% to 40% are fraudulent.
If CTV is part of your media mix, fraud prevention should be part of your strategy. 🎯
