This week in Granada, we had a surprise visit from Simon Gervais and Lisane. Simon hand-delivered his latest book--THE SECOND SON--that he co-wrote with Ryan Steck Sr. It's not even two weeks old yet so if you don't have your copy, now's the time to buy it.

There's nothing better than a day of drinking Spanish wine, eating great food, and laughing as the good stories flow one right after another. We're already hoping they'll return some day.

Tim Sandlin was my first and only writing professor in the early '90s and since then, a longtime friend. His beautifully drawn characters, subversive humor, and rich settings are a breath of fresh air and make this Wyoming mystery a true pleasure.

Today I'm thinking about all the people in my life that I'm grateful for: friends, family and, of course, fans! I hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Thanksgiving's just getting started for most of you today, yet I'm already posting about my favorite thing to do with leftover turkey. In my defense, it's early evening here in Spain…

Even though I'm not based in the US right now, I'm still thinking about America and how lucky we are to be part of such an incredible country. We have freedom, opportunity, and the right to pursue any path we choose.

We owe a great debt to the men and women in uniform who have fought to protect our way of life. Today, on Veterans Day, I'm toasting you.
