By the mid-1980s Vostok experimented with such a design, displaying double crowns and an internal bezel, while maintaining their dynamic water resistance architecture. Graced by collectors with the “Compressor” moniker it rapidly gained legendary status. Just a small prototype run was ever assembled, with only about 20 pieces known today.

Vostok, through a special project coordinated by John Sullivan, managed by Dmitry Buyalov and designed by Tiago do Vale, reissued the Compressor in a very limited edition of 97 watches (59 with orange details, 39 with green details) and four pre-production prototypes, inspired by the original model but taking advantage of the best materials, tolerances and techniques allowed by today’s production standards.

The dial displays green and orange graphics: the reflected wavelengths of both these colors are the most effective ones in penetrating bodies of water. Being that these colors are the last ones to remain visible at depth, they allow for the watch face to remain legible even at more extreme dives.

Complementing the internal diving bezel, the grid graphic aids in rapidly evaluating 5, 10, 20 and 30-minute intervals for dive and decompression timing.

Both the rubber strap and the stainless-steel bracelet are exclusively designed for this watch and are fully integrated with the case.
